Woah, Cosmic is possibly the best class in the game

I know most of you guys would say mutant is the best class. But tbh cosmic has become the most op class in the game now. Here’s why.
First tier:
Hercules
Corvus
CGR
Knull
Hyperion
CMM
Hulkling
Odin

Second tier:
Angela
Medusa
Venom
Venompool
King Groot
Vision Aarkus

Cosmic is slightly better than mutant. Anyone?

It's subjective based on what you need/like/want. Every class has quite a few stars and you generally only need a couple stars in each class to have the right option for every node/defender in the game. Honestly, just go to auntmai and sort by class and it's easy to see the top 5-10 champs that are most appealing to you (each individual) and try to diversify your roster so you have champs that can handle any situation. The debate about who is best, or what class is best, is in the eye of the beholder and generally isn't going to sway anyone else that feels differently based on their own opinion.

Lol at so much of this page, but are you really saying that Gold/Platinumpool, OML, Sabertooth, and Psylocke aren’t any good?? That’s a bold claim. They may not be Magneto, but still, there is a big difference between them and someone like Beast, Cyclops, Ms Marvel, or Phoenix.

Psylocke is a fantastic champ. Sabertooth and OML are solid. Goldpool and Platinumpool aren’t in the base crystal, they’re trophy champs. Including them would be like including Thanos in the cosmic pool.

I’d say that unless you see something wildly out of the norm, I wouldn’t be worried about seeing that champion get nerfed. Hulkling is really good, but I don’t see anything in his kit that’s truly game breaking. He’s also the reason we’re seeing more Mystics with neutralize, because his kit seems to punish nullification. He’s supposed to be a meta-definer.

The reason why Mutant is seen as being the best all around class isn’t just because of their number of great champions, but the breadth of content those champions can cover. There are very few challenges currently in this game, if any, that a Mutant can’t clear and clear easily enough to be considered a top option.

Cosmic, although absolutely no slouch and definitely growing to be a contender, doesn’t quite hit that nail on the head as convincingly as Mutant does. But if right now you told me that I could have 100% of the champions of a single class to clear all content in the game, but I only get that class, Mutant is probably the one I pick.

PS that actually sounds like a cool challenge that I’d love to see happen.

Cosmic is the biggest class in the game and as a result its watered down by a ton of duds. Mutant’s ratio is much better comparatively speaking

I found them to be worthless for completing the science objective this week in SQ. Didn’t help much with tech objective last week either! Pull it together, mutants!!

Let's not over-dramatise his importance there.
They've introduced several other champions immune to Nullify, not just Hulkling.

Thing, Annihilus, Civil Warrior, Omega Sentinel, Sam Wilson (partially), Overseer and Mister Negative all precede Hulkling, and the last two are much better examples of Punishing Nullify.

It's how the game evolves: introduce an ability. Develop new champs with a counter for it. Develop new champs who counter or bypass the first counter. And so on.

Hulkling is just one of the crowd with a partial counter for Nullify. Meta-defining remains to be seen.

Annihilus isn’t nullify immune at all? His kit is shut down hard by it. I only nitpick because Hulkling is the first Cosmic champion to punish nullification. Yeah, Mr. Negative and Overseer punish it, but they’re Science champs. You aren’t going to be bringing Mystic nullifiers into those fights anyway.

Hulkling is meta-defining in that usually, when you see a Cosmic defender you can just throw Doom or Claire or Diablo at them and call it a day. Hulkling will embarrass you and maybe give you a swirly if you try that on him. He requires a different uniquely Mystic utility to shut down, being neutralize (fate seal or buff immunity might still work? Not sure). Civil Warrior can be armor broken/shattered, same with Sam Wilson and Omega Sentinel. That’s a uniquely Cosmic ability countering these Tech champs, but not a super common one. Hulkling will have a similar relationship with Mystics. Requiring non-standard responses to a defender is, by definition, meta-altering. And Kabam is rolling out more champs with the ability to neutralize as a result.
