What do you think about Next BGs HP and Time reduction?

GrassKnucklesGrassKnuckles Member Posts: 1,948 ★★★★★
The next beta starting the 11th to the 25th has HP reduced from 300% multiplier down to 200%, and the timer from 120 sec to 90. Personally i don't think it's a major change but im not a massive fan of it. It's even harder now for longer ramp up champs to be used. However on the up side it does make matches shorter which i think is a plus. What's everyone else's opinion?

Too early for me to form an opinion. You have a good point when it comes to ramp up champions potentially struggling, but I think we just kinda have to see how it plays out.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about attacker hp only being scored if the defender is defeated

Which ramp up champs are you thinking about?
Any champ who has great damage but takes some time to get there

Meh, both nodes are punishing suicide masteries.

Knull could be a good example. Herc, maybe. Lots of cosmic champs, honestly. Spider-Gwen, a handful of others who need to flip a switch to get their best stuff

I don't like it on paper, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see what the experience is like--i'm sure (or at least hope) they've tested this aspect of it to conclude that this makes it a more engaging experience.

At the same time, it seemed to me that there are other ways to make the entire process more efficient (e.g., cutting down the amount of time after each round, etc.).

I wonder if the rank rewards are per region or globally

    This is the test….
Amazing that people still don't realize that BG's is still in beta testing.

as long as the timer will start ticking when you actually have control (after fight shoutout), I think it's very unfair,
most of the matches I played, the loading screen is ~3-5sec, but sometimes after the countdown, loading doesn''t trigger until ~5sec have passed, so most of the times, when I have the controls, there will be 1m 49sec rather than 2min. assuming nothing will be changed, I'll start the fight with 1m19sec.
hopefully there will be some adjustment to make this a bit fare.

same thing happens in champion select, if you go first, you'll have ~9sec to pick first, while if you start 2nd(and all the rest), you will have ~12sec, in my opinion, it should be the other way around

I’ll give it the B of the D. I don’t like the attacker hp only counting when you get the kill, especially with shorter fight timers because that’s going to make it far more of a power rating game than it was before. The previous iteration would allow you to finish a KP fight vs a chunky healthpool having played perfectly and win vs a guy who brute forced a fight with
Herc, and you’d have a reasonable chance of winning because you fought well, now you can just go immortal and smack the fight down in 20 seconds.
It also means an R4 has even more value than it did before where there was at least an illusion of fairness.

Paragon and TBs shouldn’t queue up against each other. There’s enough Paragons in the game now to where you can separate them

They're close enough that they can be Matched. It's only been out for so long.

It’s not close enough if your an early TB with like 5 or less R3 6*s

The Ratings will even out eventually. Faster than the previous system.

I don't understand this type of thinking at all. You should face people who have a win rate equal to you. People will have bigger rosters but they might genuinely suck at actually fighting in comparison to other players. The game mode is inherently designed to have you win 50% of your matches. Period. They don't need to make it so Paragons only face Paragons etc. to achieve that. If they did it that way, there would be people who literally lose almost every match cuz they're not as skilled as their peers. That's not the goal of the game mode. The ratings will even out once they stop getting reset. IMO, the reason why people are frustrated by this is specifically that the ratings keep getting reset. The people who should be leagues ahead of you on the leaderboard aren't their yet because they just haven't got to their natural placement yet. I do agree it is annoying though to face someone that is likely going to steamroll you but the fix to that is not what you're suggesting.

i think that depends on what your view of "evening out" would mean. what do you consider as evened out?

not a fan. DOnt want BGs to be another nukefest when we know boosts are working.

Def not a fan of the time reduction. Some fights need 2 minutes.

Happy to see it coming back regardless. .

So Cavs and TBs shouldn't match either?

Meaning with a number of Matches, they'll be more even. Just like War, and just like the previous system.

The biggest issue for me is time reduction along with connection issues
