We need new people working at kabam. Feels like everything released lately has been the opposite of pro-player changes.
I know what you're trying to say, but from my perspective, what we're seeing is "Dual Class 6-Star Crystals are not pro-player". There is not rule here saying that you now have to stop buying the 10k Crystals and only buy the Class crystals.
They might be a bit different than other classes as they were introduced, but those Champs weren't at the top of the food chain, and we're not ready to make them available for the exact same price as 6-stars yet.
I’m honestly struggling to understand the reasoning here. We aren’t at all saying that 6 star dual crystals are not pro player. We think releasing these is very pro player. But we’re struggling to see the reasoning for making them more expensive. We know we don’t have to stop buying basics, but what makes a 6 star dual more valuable than a basic, and why is that reason not present in the 5 star rarity?
If that’s what miike was trying to say I missed that as well. I’m happy for duel crystals but it’s not pro-player to release them at an increased cost. Hopefully that clears up the previous comments I made.
I would ask that you ask yourselves that question... What makes the Dual Class more valuable than a Basic, and why SHOULDN'T it be more?
I get the precedent set by the 5-Star and 4-Star crystals, but it was exactly that precedent that kept us from launching these earlier. We know players wanted them; we weren't ready to make more specific 6-Stars available for that same cost, but also knew that when we added them for 5-Stars, we set that precedent. It was either break the precedent or keep waiting.
For complete transparency, we learned pretty quickly after the release of the 5-Star Dual that we shouldn't have made them the same price, but didn't want to change them after the fact. We did the same for 4-Stars, but are less concerned with those. We decided the best case was to leave them as is but didn't want to repeat that again.
They shouldn’t cost more because the odds for targeting champions isn’t different. Probably need some @DNA3000 math on this but I would bet money that the odds to pull god-tier champions from the basic to the duel crystals won’t change much.

This is a bad response miike. but, you answered an that is better than no answer! However, you are implying that every champ in the dual class crystal pulls are all top of food chain. If that is the case is basic iron man there? Both versions of cyclops? Drax? Moonknight? Groot?
if you removed some of the duds then this is definitely a justifiable reason. However, you didn't an as discussed time an time again the RNG does not guarantee a top of the food chain champ, heck most of the time its not, an it might not even be the champ that you want to use if were a top of chain champ (for instance, if i got Ghost, i would never use her...yes i know, insane!).
At first i looked past the 2,500 extra, but the reason behind it is poor.

Top of the food chain? Are these FEATURED dual crystals? Did I miss something?
If you compare them to featured crystals, if said crystal has strong champion pool, it will be miles better than these new crystals. I don't think many players will accept +25% price to have tiny advantage in drawing from 2 classes.

I understand the thought that occurred when you released 5 star duals and that you think you shouldn’t have made them the same. And maybe you’re right. But I personally don’t believe the team is correct in thinking they should cost more. As others have pointed out, the chance of pulling a god tier or trash champ remains roughly the same. Yes some classes are better than others, but are generally equal. You just reduce the pool. But also, when deciding to release these today, Kabam had to have considered the negative press going on right now, and predict how the player base would receive this increase in shard price. If you hadn’t released these today, nobody would be the wiser that it was planned to release them today. Maybe Kabam should have waited longer.

Champion acquisition is hard enough as is, we don’t need the added cost just to get a fairer chance at getting a specific champs.

The precedent set is the reason for the comments here. With everything that has happened in the past with the promise of wish Crystal's that were not released and the recent negative reaction to 8.1 delay and battlegrounds, doing the Crystal's for 10k would have gotten you some good will.

- I get why you would wanna make it cost more but if you’re gonna do that, it would at least be nice for when you get a dupe of a 6* to get more gold and more iso from that dupe. The way things are going right now, instead of hiring some of your players to help with character designs, Kabam should seriously start thinking about hiring a public relation firm. Are you even aware we are your customers and we are the ones paying the bills? At one point, you need to reconnect with your customer base. While you still have one

The reason why it shouldn’t cost more is because this is a game, and the aim should be to keep the game fun, enjoyable and engaging for its players. When this is achieved, people are happy with the product and more inclined to spend money on it.
When they are disenfranchised they get annoyed and spend less, which initiates cash grabby mentality to make up additional revenue and which leads to battlegrounds.
And again, the odds of getting a specific champion increase, the but pool or good champions decreases. You’re at no better odds of getting a half decent champion than a normal 6* crystal. The extra cost is just to fleece players.
This whole month feels like an absolute debacle. This is the icing on the cake.
I'll give kabam a way of turning this into a win without changing the cost of the crystal. Make the dual class 6 star a nexus for 12.5k shards and complaints will stop and everyone will be happy.

While you make a point. There are now over 230 champions in the game. With around 225 of them being available as a 6 star... I feel this is far too many to try to fit into one crystal. Splitting them into three seems alot better. But there's no need to increase the cost. I get it might make the basic less relevant but the game has progressed to a point where the value of a basic doesn't feel worth it anymore.
Now I can just always open Mutant Skill duals to dupe Nick and a new Red Mags. still missing a few heavy hitters from mutant and skill anyway so I'll take the extra cost.

Let’s show you how short sighted you are. The in game message clearly states for Cavalier+ players, the 6* Dual Class Crystals would be available. If you wanted to “break the precedent”, as you have indicated, you should have put these crystals available in “Featured Item” section of the store. That way, you could have priced the Dual Class Crystals based on Progression Level. Cavalier players can pay 12,500; Thronebreakers can pay 11,000, and Pargon players can pay 10,000.
I am assuming we now gonna see more Dual Nexus Crystals? Since you guys first introduced through units purchase and currently in summer resort store. 🤔
They cost 12,500 shards though. I’ll say I’m very pleased they decided to make them universally available, but why make them cost more? 5 star dual crystals still cost 10k. Why make 6 stars cost more? If it’s because they’re more valuable than basics, why aren’t 5 star duals more expensive? Will the cost go down over time? What’s the reasoning Kabam?
Because nobody cares about 4 or 5* would be my guess
This is a much needed addition to the game. That being said....I don't like the price point, but I can see where it came from.
FULL PRICE Basic - 10K Dual - 12.5K Featured - 15K
You essentially split the cost between a basic and featured due to the reduced champ pool. You should have taken into consideration the summoner sigil discount of the featured crystal when making your decision. You missed out on an opportunity to give it some added value. Also consider that the featured pool is 1/24 on odds....the odds on a dual crystal are roughly 1/70 - 1/80 depending on the crystal. This is figured on total champs....not just the basic pool, but you get the point. Considering that the odds are only going to get larger the more time goes by as more champs are added into the game.....I think the following is a fair compromise.
They had to sneek in some kabam greed in there. Not interested. I'd rather pay 2.5k more and go for features. With how large the 6* pool is now, people will go for 10k basics (smaller rosters) or 15k features (large rosters targetting specific champs). The dual crystals seem out of place and kinda pointless at that price.
