Battlegrounds Matchups are Really Stupid Sometimes

I am a Thronebreaker player, this is my Battlegrounds deck
No rank 4's, 5 rank 3's, 3 rank 2's and a bunch of 5/65's and rank 1 6*. I am in Diamond 2 right now. Ever since I started playing Battlegrounds, I have been matched with players with ridiculously op decks, which are way beyond the level of any TB player. At first it was occasional, and then as I progressed, these matchups became even more common. Since I reached Platinum 2, I have been matched with Paragon players or whales every other match. I must have wasted atleast 5-6 full energy refills just to get to diamond 2, simple because I was given unwinnable matches. Battlegrounds is supposed to be a solo competitive mode, but I don't see the competition if the match is one sided. I mean, a TB player like me cannot be expected to win against players with half their decks full of rank 4's and the rest of them rank 3's. I am sure this has happened to others as well. This needs to be addressed ASAP, because if this goes on, then a lot of the playerbase will lose interest in this mode for good

Not sure what you’re expecting. This is how competition works.
You moved up to Diamond, there won’t be as many thronebreakers there as paragons. The more your progress they harder it should be. Unless you want to sit there and wait 5-10 mins for matchmaking you’ll need to pay your dues to continue to move up. Which means facing accounts larger than yours. I face whales all the time, I’m paragon but there are different paragon tiers. I don’t complain when I face an account that has 8-9 rank 4s and not 1 rank 2 in their deck.
Same as war, if you’re in a smaller alliance with skilled folks eventually if you win enough you’ll be out matched again a much bigger alliance and get your butt kicked
When you make matches on deck strength, you also encourage players to exploit it by adding lower stars. If you match it on account strength then you screw over anyone who is less skilled compared to people with similar rated rosters.
You can pretty easily drop the current rating and get fairer matches by losing, but how do you drop account rating? You can’t. You just would eternally be matching with harder fights because you’re less skilled.
What about if you’re more skilled than the people around your account rating? Eternal easy fights.
I could take an Alt, which is pretty low, and just go beat up conqueror players at similar ratings constantly, then you’d see me first on the leaderboard because I never match harder fights.
The fights are currently tuned to how good you are, and that’s a mixture of your skill and your roster. If you’re better and you win then you will improve your rating, if you’re worse and lose then you’ll decrease it. Overall, it’s the fairest method and so many competitions use this method of matchmaking. World class chess for example.
Let’s say we match making on roster strength, let’s take an example of two players. They are exactly the same skill, they have the same number of R3s, but one of them has ranked up all 3*s. Their roster is judged as “better” and they get harder matchups. Is that a fair system?
Other scoring methods that include roster or deck strength no longer judge you on how good you are. This one does.
Also it’s not a guaranteed unwinnable match. The opponent can slip up. I’m a Diamond 1 player with 10 R4s who just absolutely bottled a fight because I forgot to block. It happens.
Anyways point is, you can’t complain about tough matchups when you’re in a high tier of PvP. That’s how it’s supposed to work
Every 3rd- 5th combat session is like this)). They just ignore the players!!!
