I think it's a very complicated addition for a very small bonus. Time will tell if rank ups and stronger relics are truly game changers but for now it's just a lot to learn for a small boost and a steep price to increase that boost.
Until 5/6* relics are as available as 5/6*s, I don't really see much use yet. Relics appers to be the most overhyped concept Kabam has made in MCOC.
If you could, for example, use relic champs sp attack and add it anywhere regardless of class... for example Angela with Doom's SP1, then I would probably have gone all in... but it's not like that. So for now I don't care.
I really don`t care for them. I think the menu is really out of place with the rest of the game. Much like battlegrounds. Althou I like the mode. But mostly I do not like the potential risk they will cause in the future. Right now. We need certain champs to counters obstacles. With relics. It will only take time before only certain counters with certain relics will work as a viable option. Or god forbid the return of gates where you can only do a path with a 5* cosmic relic equiped or something like that.
There are so many champions in the game that are already pretty hard to get. Especially when 7 star become the new meta.
The only thing that could possibly make this a positive for me is if they change from 2 new champions a month, into 1 new champion and 1 new relic. Since a relic seems easier to make, more attention and love could be put into the single champ added to the game.
But overall. I wish they would have listened to the part of the community that didn`t like the idea. Which to me seemed to be the majority.
I wish they were not strikers, I'm fine with the abilities. If it was like an item (Juggernauts helmet for example) or staff like that but not the character itself, that would've been better imo.
It will take some time to work out the best pairings, but I feel the runes abilities are the best aspect of relics. They can make some champs quite op.
I can't pass a judgement as I haven't used any of them. What I can say is I don't like the idea of it and will not be using them at all. Hopefully kabam don't make the game around them in the future but if they do then I'll just hang my gloves up and walk off 😂. No drama lol
I hate the number of qualifiers they are putting on almost non-existent debuffs/buffs.
I put the Hulk one on Spiderman 2099, because it does a Physical Vulnerability debuff. I did not see that you could scroll down. Further reading says that you ONLY GET THE DEBUFF if they are stunned (by anything but Parry) or they are disoriented. SP99 does neither.
Don’t like them. At the moment, they don’t seem to make that much of a difference. Seems like they take a long time to charge up. When used, my champ just stands there when the striker is done and I take a combo. Certainly won’t be buying or going out of my way to obtain them.

Honestly i think this was a great year for Kabam... until August, since then its been downhill ever since, cant believe they threw 7* and this Relic bs.. After almost 8 years playing, throwing back to back 2 new stuff to start the collection from scratch is demoralizing and doesnt excite me at all, actually it makes me wanna quit

The concept is dumb, and forced. This is a bizarre way of getting the whales of the game to pony up more to hit that prestige cap. While the rest of us are only annoyed, and inconvenienced.
I don't have an opinion on relics yet but I would like to rate the roll-out of them a 0/10. High-jacking your screen and forcing you to start using something the minute it goes live is an awful user experience. I closed the game when it first happened because I was just waking up, bleary eyed and wanting my first sip of morning coffee and now my Champions screen is Kabam'd. I guess I will have to do the tutorial just to get my Champions screen back. I did not like this one personally.

It's literally the same upgrade system as Champions with different terms. Alloys are catalysts, embers are Iso, and Celestial alloys are alpha catalysts.

Yeah I never said it was different, I said overly complicated to manage all the different resources. It says “try” But I meant “manage” lol.
They would have been more effective if they didn’t follow the same rank up/upgrade method that champions have. Keep it simple.

I've been a fan of Strikers since they came, so I'm cool with it so far. It will take some time to develop a preference.
I do like the idea of strikers and enjoyed using them when they brought them in at the start of the year. My peeve with relics is their usage in competitive modes being allowed 😒
I wish I could get them to work. Right now, when I go to the champions/relic screen, the game crashes. Not only can I not use them but now I can't even see my champs.

Man, I've been playing for almost 8 years and I've put a lot of time and effort into growing my account and skill. 15.9K prestige before relics, top half of Master AW, top 150 BGs last season, top 100 of act6 and act7 legend runs and almost every worthwhile champ is part of my roster.
Relics just make a mockery of all that effort and time investment. I'm so invested in the game at this point that I don't think I can just quit. Plus, I've made a lot of friends along the way and I enjoy playing with them. But if the game were to just die out, I'd be ok with it. (I've also recently upgraded my PC's graphics card, so my "gaming needs" would be satisfied another way).

I appreciate that's how you feel, but the game is always going to introduce some nuance that requires more effort. There really is no "End-Game" status, in a manner of speaking. It's an ongoing process of always reaching for the next goal.
My problem is I don't have as much time for the game as I once did. I have a number champs I don't know how to play well that I keep saying I will eventually take the time to figure out but it hasn't happened yet. I'm not opposed to relics per se, but I really don't want to spend a lot of time learning how to use them properly. If the cyber weekend deals turn out to be relic heavy it will save me some units.

I do not plan to chase these items, only use the ones I get doing the stuff I already do in the game.
Hopefully they remain an optional part of the game, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see nodes in long term content that require the use of relics.
