When do Gifts actually expire?

I received a gift from someone. In the mail it says Claimable Items Expire in 28 days.
However, in my Stash it says that they will expire in 6 days.
Can you clarify how long the gift will be available to be claimed?

One guy posted a warning that gifts expire per the time indicated in the rewards and *not* per the time in the mail message.

I'm facing the same issue and would like to claim some gifted potions in 3 weeks not in 3 hours, but the game will likely delete them in 3 hours so I will claim them now. :-(

Same for all those Gifted items this year.
But this time the Banquet RANK rewards Mail are displayed as too short. Instead of Mail saying 30 days for Rank, it's only saying 8 hrs left (from now, so original 1 day + 6 hrs), while the Stash was it's normal 7 days.
I believe the Stash (7 days) is still correct. There would be *** to pay if Rank Rewards expired slightly after just 1 day.
The 22-hr Solo Events now have their rewards listed with 1 day + 6 hrs in the MAIL.
While still it's normal 7 days listing in STASH-REWARDS tab.
Wonder if this was a conscious change made for the Mail Msgs to have their “expires” info shortened, so that there wouldn’t be any loss of rewards by people just going by the Mail Msg time, and then losing out when they are no longer there for that whole long time.
(strange that they couldn’t just make the timer the exact same in both places though)
