As far as Kabam is concerned, why is a company required to make immediate changes because the players constantly don't want to play fairly? This is similar to how COD players feel about campers. That play style is universally hated because there's no skill involved. Should Infinity Ward redesign the game to get rid of campers? No. That's not what should happen. The community should hold those people that feel the need to camp or hit pause up to a higher standard.
There are other reasons to need the pause button like scratching your nose or something similar. Is it fair to keep taking things away from those to are playing the mode fairly?
Meta/Node choices- Lets not pretend that this is a new thing with not wanting a certain level of difficulty. This is a age ol battle that has been waged since the start of the game. People dislike the node combinations mostly for a few reasons-
1. Lack of depth in their roster.
2. Lack of diversity in their roster.
3. Lack of knowledge of the game in general.
4. Lack of wanting to do anything remotely considered difficult yet expecting top notch rewards.
We've seen people asking for nerfs to nearly every piece of content that as been introduced because they just want the rewards without actually earning them. They don't want difficult content. They don't want to be challenged. They want to take the highest damage champ they have and speed run through everything without any resistance. Act 6 was nerfed twice. Twice. We have a long history of complaining about difficulty and not wanting to learn how to handle counter that difficulty. It's always cries for "Nerf Cav MEQ "any boss here"" or EoP is too hard, SoP is too hard etc...
is this the most fun meta? No, not by a long shot. Are there counters? Yes, plenty. Will we get over it? Yep, and we'll be on to the next piece of content that someone doesn't want to do because it's too much for them.
Gauntlet comes back tomorrow and EoP on the 18th. We'll see it happen with those.
I guarantee those pause and time outs will stop very quick when they are no longer getting matched up with and taking advantage of only weak players. This strategy doesn't work against good rosters/players.
This meta should be put on GC, in VT you should put nodes that make you change your playstyle or make some champs better than the others, but restricting you to only play those champs its very different
It totally has to do with this because my point is anytime the player base has an issue or something doesn’t work we wait and wait and when it’s something that affects them it’s handled ASAP.
It’s about numbers and you’re not gonna tell me all these threads and people complaining about BG are wrong and it’s not an issue because a smaller percentage of the player base thinks it’s just fine.
The fact is people are doing it and cheating and others are suffering because of it.
The game is filled with Nodes that narrow our choices. It's inevitable with the sheer number of Champs we have in the game. It's not a given that we should use any Champ we choose, especially in highly-competitive aspects of the game. It's just as much about having the right counters as it is playing successfully.
A proper ranked system in any other game difficulty is based on progression and they dropped the ball with the meta and it’s creating other issue period. If you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.
What I have an issue with is the constant complaining about how hard a piece of content is and the obsessiveness of needing that content nerfed because you suck at it.
The meta of BG is a sandwich okay; first Season had tuna and tomato, second one had ham and some onion, third one had just vegetables and eggs, and this one has an alive chicken inside.
And you guys are like yeah I know maybe isnt that easy to eat the sandwich with the chicken just trying to get out of it you have to use your knife to try to stab him instead of cut the sandwich in half, and maybe try to spit the feathers and the claws, and maybe it doesnt taste well but you have to learn to enjoy it anyways.
I think its easier this way to explain
This is part of my roster and skill is not the issue 😆 the meta is bad period.
You assume a lot of stuff like you know me or something.
You should have said "I love a challenge when it fits my small skill set".
A reminder once again to keep your opinions on the game and off of other forums users.
A couple things worth mentioning.
Removing the pause button is something the game team has discussed. However, it comes with its own problems. Notably, navigating how to handle players that would let the game idle in the background instead. Additionally, removing the pause button is a major change to the game infrastructure that could have many knock-on effects. Until that time, as we have said before, using the pause button as a strategy is considered unsportsmanlike and frowned upon.
Onto this season's meta... Yes, we have heard you, some of you really do not like the meta. We have heard from many people that this meta has forced them to use champs in ways they never would have and resulted in them learning a whole new area of the game they otherwise never would have. We've also seen reports from Summoners who were initially outraged, then took the time to learn the meta and found ways to thrive within it.
We take all of these factors into consideration and will use the information in how we build metas for future seasons.
