  I fail to see how leaking new champs has anything to do with players privacy. It's in the game files, our accounts are stored on separate servers.

  Honestly, aside from the whole leaking personal information while claiming to be some altruistic whistleblower which is just disgusting, one part is speaking to more of the devs who design, build, work on, get hyped for and then get their champions exciting launch ruined.
  
  Imagine being the person who worked hours and hours a day on Silk, and then around the launch of that champion, August’s champs get leaked and suddenly people are ignoring your champ because someone else’s was leaked early. That would really suck. That’s the human level for me. Instead of champions naturally getting their time in the spotlight, in a cool, marketed trailer reveal, it’s posted on Twitter by someone who just wants attention.
  
  On another level, it’s not good for the game. BMcG shared this really interesting read on leaks affecting devs and being bad for communities

  Once upon a time I used to reverse engineer and break down the games I played as well. If I was still doing that, I would know everything the leakers know and a lot more. However, in all my time doing that I never leaked prerelease information. I limited my disclosures to one simple rule: if a player can see it in the game, it was fair game to publish. If players had no way to know, and no experiment they could conduct to find out, I wasn't going to be the one to disclose it.
  
  For precisely those reasons. When you are a child or someone with the mind of a child, this can seem like some cat and mouse game with a faceless nameless corporation. But adults should know there's real people behind all of this, and ruining their work for your own self-aggrandization is petty and small.
  
  That's separate from leaking personal information. There's no excuse for that at all. The notion that anyone is doing a public service by doing that is completely wrong. As a member of the IT security community if I knew who it was I would turn them in immediately without a second thought, and I would not shed a tear when they went down.

  Leaks aren't great. Unless they're leaks about who's getting laid off and your name isn't on the list. Unless you're still working at [redacted] and saying Dang i could've been part of that [redacted] launch but now I'm just waiting for the next round of layoffs cause [redacted] is a [adverb noun].
