What is the point of seeding?

From the season 11 everyone who arrived in the gladiator circuit in season 10, will start in plat 1.
So what is the point of seeding? What is the difference between starting all from bronze 3 amd starting all from plat 1?

Seeding is used in sports where they don't have to play tournament matches for qualifying they direct play quater final so they didn't have to play those matches they are fresh not tired and probably injured get more time to practice.same as here people have more time to play gc and score more .

Mainly for matchmaking purposes, as less lower leveled players will be matched up against paragon players.

Maybe they can then remove the curated match making at lower levels and just make it a free for all.

prevent players that reached GC to try the farm method the next season.
In conclusion you will spent less time in Victory track after season 10 if you reach GC
You just need to play 5 matches in order to grt the milestones rewards of the ones you skipped over

But the farming took place in plat/diamond where you could face any player. In Gold, Silver and bronze it matched you with similiar accounts to yours.

You also need those matches anyway to get your BG points, so this change is pointless

Exactly. If anything this just expands the farming territory with the extra ranks.

Plus, let s say I start at plat 1 in Season 12 because I got to GC during 11, if I stay in platinum the whole season, I ll drop to Silver for the next one, right? Even more work to ascend in Season 13 then with the extra ranks. This is probably even worse than the current system.

I don’t see any benefit to the average player. I thought they said they wanted people to get to GC? I have made it the last 3 seasons but it’s a slog with 1:1 medals on the win/loss scale. Increasing those ranks, not fixing farming… this is going to be a big step backwards for casual players making GC

There's at least less reason to farm this season than last season, but I wish they would extend the two medals for a win since they added extra tracks

Let’s try this out before condemning it or acting like we already know the consequences.

That's for plants which in turn saves environment.

I don’t see the problem of questioning and being outright skeptical of reimplementing the same model which caused so many to give up on battlegrounds (1:1 win/loss medals). Unless the description is wrong - we now have even more ranks like this to get to GC… when we were told (unless I am mistaken) that they wanted more of us to reach GC. The previous set up did just that… this new format takes it away.

I didn’t come close to make GC until the 2:1 medals were implemented for a large swath of VC. If we are back to “it’s a skill issue” then fine- we are unwinding what was done before.

They are giving an honest chance to players to move out of GC before the lower level folks get to the same level.

Did you read through Kabam's post?
    https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/342704/battlegrounds-season-10-details-battlerealm-brawl-qualifiers

It explains the reasoning behind it. The key paragraph:
"The changes we’ve made to this point have already seen some great results. Inevitably, it will lead to some uneven matches where massive accounts punch down against newer folks; it is unfortunate but this change will allow those accounts to climb faster than others, allowing them to progress out of the lower level matchmaking pools sooner. With seeding being introduced, these accounts should be moving to higher ranks even faster and each season we will see fewer and fewer matches with a large disparity of account power. We’re going to continue monitoring this and ensuring that Battlegrounds feels fair for Summoners of all skill levels."

So, you start at a higher rank, but the ranks are more now, soooo, what s the point of all this exactly?

The matchmaking for Season 9 was horrendous if you were a lower paragon player. Based on observations, in the first tracks, small paragons got matchmade with any other paragon, including the whales. This change would mean you have to go through that heck only once before you arrive at the looser matchmaking.

Also more tracks means more BG tokens, and I definitely won't pass up a free like 15k extra tokens for just pushing GC. Also more vibranium tracks means less people are likely to make it to GC so that means you shouldn't need 180 points just to get out of URU 3 this season.

    I tanked in Diamond 1 from 165k to 380k
And then went on to win 5 matches and get 400k points
So yeah if I have the elder marks to tank enough to reach the points then I can definitely see myself doing that again since it's not illegal

When does the win:loss medal ratio become 1:1?
I know it becomes 1:1 later in the VT but I don't remember the exact mark/rank

Diamond. So now you have 1 more diamond level as multiple more vibranium levels to deal with it at 1:1 before getting to GC.

Matchmaking aside, one of the big problems with BG is the time you have to spend. These changes don't fix that.
