His defender beat you up. And he beat up your defender.

But if you're referring to the fact you killed his defender and he didn't. I agree. Should get a bonus or something for killing the defender for this very reason. But I'm sure there is some downside of that as well.

Nah, pause game on point is insta pausing at 1% health before he hits second Life.

It's not even 1%. It's possible they timed out on second life too

Hopefully next battleground this need to be changed
If I beat the opponent before time out I should have won this game if he doesn't

You want them to give you a win for scoring less points than your opponent?

    How do you win this

    ...by not getting hit.

They prioritize remaining health over getting the KO. It’s been discussed on here a lot. Doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon.

Play into the point system and try to keep as much health as possible even if that means playing it safer or picking a tankier champ. I’ve won matches with Joe Fixit where I took twice as many hits but ended with way more health from his regen.

Stop hoping. This is never going to be changed. I know this better than anyone.

They prioritize remaining health over getting the KO. It’s been discussed on here a lot. Doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon.

They don't prioritize remaining health over the KO. There is a KO bonus: only the player getting the KO can get credit for remaining time. Rather, they do not weight the KO as an overriding win condition. In other words, they don't prioritize the KO above all else, the KO is just one facet of the overall competition.

And the reason why they are likely never going to change this is pretty simple. In a points based system like the one that exists now, you can tweak the victory conditions, which is something they have done several times already, by changing the effective weights of player health, defender health, and time remaining, to shift the meta in different ways. But with an absolute win criteria like "if I kill the defender and my opponent does not then I win every time" there is no way to do that. That rule locks in a particular meta for all time.

You can tweak scoring but you cannot tweak binary rules. So until the devs exhaust every possible meta and every possible associated point weighting system that is mathematically possible, which is never going to happen, they aren't going to abandon a system they can tweak for one they cannot, just because some percentage of the players thinks it makes more sense.

If *everyone* thought that way they might consider it, but that's not the case. And trust me, I fought that fight, I lost that fight, and I know it is not a winnable fight., because it handcuffs the devs in an unpalatable way to them, and there's insufficient unanimity among players regarding what's fair to ever have a sufficiently overwhelming consensus among the players. So long as both are true, this idea is DOA.

In this case, I view the last major shift in points that reduced the KO/time bonus as a “prioritization of remaining health”.

When time was also worth 15k points a KO mattered more. With time being reduced to 10k points they prioritized remaining health more.
