Has this game lost its fun?

BabyGrootBabyGroot Member Posts: 199 ★★
I still have 3 paths left of necropolis and plenty of units and revives to get through it all. Yet I really dred doing it. 3 hours of my time each run doing content that's not fun. It's making me not want to open the app. Feeling like I need to because I'm missing out by not doing it. The game feels like a chore not a game lately. I don't enjoy this bg season and am burnt out by arena grinds. December side quest and banquet were disappointing.

Any one else feeling this?

If you're Aegon'ing, I can see why it would be fun. Make it fun. Set a goal to use a certain revives and different Champs. Kabam can only do so much.

Just depends on how you play. I'm a everything in moderation type of guy and only play when I want to. All six of my necro paths took at least three days per path. Didn't feel like a grind at all. I would boost, do war, do one necro fight and another of I felt like it and then logged out. I do BG every two days and I hardly grind arena. Just take it easy

I’ve been having lots of fun, but it just comes and goes sometimes. Nothing wrong with that.

If you don’t like Everest content… December was a major drag. Side quest has continued to be terrible, banquet nerfed to the ground for paragon +, etc.

This month’s events were kinda meh, especially the side quest so I can understand why you feel bored. However I grinded out the last 3 necropolis paths yesterday using Aegon and I enjoyed just mindlessly punching through everything. The first 3 paths I did I planned everything out and was very particular about every fight. I stressed myself out if I didn’t play perfectly. But the last 3? Just punch and kick your way through it. Was it more expensive? Most likely. But it was so much easier and quicker to just punch through everything. Just a level of stress that unloaded and it felt good.

I disagree with the game being boring overall. Necro has actually been a fun, rewarding challenge. However i agree that banq was just ok, solo reward path kinda saved it. The monthly quest was HORRID the side quest was so bad I honestly think the banquet issues helped take away attention from how terrible the Sq was. Just dreadful.

To foster a more engaging and satisfying gaming experience, I suggest that Kabam consider implementing regular surveys to directly engage with and understand their player base. Furthermore, responding constructively to player feedback, especially regarding event timing and rewards, would demonstrate a commitment to evolving and improving the game in line with player expectations.

I've actually gotten in-game messages for surveys. One about sox months ago (?) Was even directly asking questions about spending and if if was too unbalanced.

It's you who's forcing yourself to play 3 hours straight.
I just do 1 fight of Necro whenever I feel like doing it, since January calander has started, I'm not in rush till February or Feburary?

yeah if you’re burnt out on necro, or any game mode, take some time out, do the parts of the game you enjoy. There’s no time limit on getting Valiant, the content will be there when you’re more enthused.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I shouldn't let a game stress me out. The comments here have really made me realize how amazing this community is. The past year has been a rough one for me and this game has become a nice escape from reality. So my recent mcoc struggles have hit hard since this is my way to de-stress usually. I hope you all have a wonderful year and get all the best champion pulls lol Happy new year everyone!

Fomo in a game like this with constantly diminishing returns and whales dropping tens of thousands to be at the top is a fool's errand IMO. You just end up stressing out so much over something that isn't worth it in the long run. Pushing Necro and Valiant was fun for me personally but if you don't want to do it then don't. Just wait a little bit and get the title a different way.

The main reason i have multiple accounts is for this reason: they're all at different ranks with different champs, and i pick and choose which one i feel like playing, so i literally play for fun. Last few days I've been busy so it's just logging in and autorunning stuff to burn energy. It's also a matter of priorities: this game is a blow off for me, where for many others it's a raison d'etre. "Valiant" won't show up in my Net Worth calculations, so its fun and games till i move on to other frivolity. Perspective is helpful for enjoyment. Happy new year to you as well.

I spent $250 on a R5 6-Star Gem so I could finally max out CGR. It was a really cool video for my YouTube channel - it meant a lot to me, but I honestly felt a very deep regret for spending that much. Especially when R5ing a champ isn't even that difficult now (at least where I am).

While it wasn't a new feeling for this game, it was definitely the strongest I ever felt the "why did I pressure myself into doing this thing?" I felt I NEEDED to get that Gem and R5 Cosmic Ghost Rider ASAP. I put that stress on myself and felt terrible afterwards. It genuinely burnt me out for a bit.. to the point where I couldn't even bring myself to play him much at all.

I've always played at my own pace, but that instance is one of the only times I stepped beyond my comfort zone and it reminded me that everyone has their own limits for these kinds of things - whether it comes to your spend of money or your time.

Play the game how you feel you should. Don't do anything out of obligation. It won't make you happy.

There are some hardcore, high tier players who enjoy that type of thing, of course! And I'm sure some of them are dedicated enough to MCOC to be on this forum to disagree with me, but I don't think that playstyle is for everyone, and that's okay too!

Simply put: Necropolis released less than 2 months ago. Don't pressure yourself to 100% quick if you don't feel like you should!
