NC Runestone Thoughts

Following are the sources to obtain all NC runestones as per today's livestream. Need 120 for guaranteed 7* NC. Though it does say subject to change.

Apart from these there might be offers.

My thoughts:
10 from arena is easy, 30 from store would be fine, 30 from paragauntlet should be fine as well, 3 back to back season GCs feels a bit forced amid current less participants but doable, hopefully metas are bearable. Last but not the least incursions, now I can't do incursions without herc but let's see how it goes, if it's in zone 25, i will check the offers. So mostly incursions and BGs should be pain point.

Since the Incursions challenge is essentially the last place to grab the remaining ones from, I assume it will be behind the new Sector 7. Will probably be aimed at being anti-Herc/Aegon. Might be a good place to test the Everest potential of Serpent.

I think incursions is pushing it a little bit, but forcing players into the slog of battlegrounds grinding for multiple seasons is taking it way too far. That goes well beyond "working for it" and is just making us suffer for no reason.

The least they could have done was announce a victory track update to alleviate the backlash with some positivity like "we know this sounds bad but look at how we're changing the climb so it's easier and more fun!" this would have been the perfect time to announce they were letting us have 2 medals for a win in diamond and up. It's time

Honestly at this point there’s no way I’m doing 3 full clears of VT in a row unless I somehow get valiant very soon, or they announce that you won’t lose medals for losses in vt during sagas

I stopped playing BG after the season with Deathless guilty piece. After seeing this no way in hell I am gonna do 3 seasons of BG just for runes

This is a cool idea but the bar seems too high for a single 7* that doesn’t seem like he’ll be game breaking. If folks start doing crazy things with a 6*R5 I might feel a little different.

As it stands, 3 months of effort and 3 back to back BG grinds isn’t appealing. Another “juice isn’t worth the squeeze” situation for me. If they also boost other rewards for those BG seasons I might give it a go but I still doubt I’m in for this.

I like the chase concept for the deathless champs and now Nightcrawler, the bar has just been too high to keep me interested so far.

Wonder what are the odds of winning the waffle to get the Serpent. I do have a meme in mind if i win one.

But i will get a mighty 3* serpent from amazon prime rewards, will see if it helps.

The BG challenge is my main bugaboo... I try my hardest and can't make it through to Gold these past few months... Let alone getting to victory track! The reward should come from winning a particular amount of matches like they did a few months ago.

If we buy 60 daily Valiant Specials, that’s another 120 Runestones so we could in theory awaken Nightcrawler.

This is a little depressing. While I don’t expect 7* champs to be cheap, I also don’t expect an unproven 7* champ to require this amount of time, effort and resources. It is, after all, Nightcrawler—even if he is buffed.

A brand new champ would make the grind feel a lot better. I’d pretty much do any content for a 7* Blue Marvel lol

Thankfully my 7* Mutant roster is decent enough, for the time at least, to not have to put myself through endless BG grinds AND Incursion runs. After Deathless KG, I'm out of this race too.

I don't know why people are complaining about bgs. I mean, if you are paragon, just save up your tokens until you become Valiant. Bgs require grinding, but matchmaking is way better than earlier seasons. How else they are supposed to provide some sort of challenge to the runestone acquisition method? I hate that incursions part tbh. Unless someone is willing to carry me, I don't see myself getting a 7* NC.

Hi all Petyrs, FYI, seems starting today they are giving NC runestones in offers. For paragons it's 4 per day and for valiants it's 5 per day.
Each progression daily offer has one runestone.

This is yet to be announced but this is something i saw just now.

Also worth noting that these also appear to be present on the webstore. Unless you’re targeting a specific class, the webstore is definitely the better offer.

This was pretty much their method of increasing bg participation without actually improving the game mode. At least make vibranium need only 3 wins for this.

Agreed. One could argue he’s effectively *new* after the buff. But…imagine if it was a 7* Blob, Blue Marvel, Prowler or Morgan le Fey?

And @Nemesis_17 thats not a silly take. It feels like a 3-month patch for BGs.

Once you make it to GC the first time though, you’ll at least have a shorter climb (assuming you hadn’t made GC in the previous season). I agree it’s not a thrilling proposition, just looking to soften the blow

I don’t mind the grind for BGs personally, although I completely understand why others would hate it. Vibranium especially is tedious where you need 5 medals and they took away the 1 win = 2 medals feature.

For me the sticking point is incursions. The randomness of nodes & defenders create real roadblocks. And I was never one who used Herc, I like using Angela and Vox, neither of which I’ll be able to use due to the new tags. Add on the fact they’re creating a new sector 7 which can only mean it’ll be harder and that one is going to be a major headache to complete. Hopefully it’s only zone 10 or 15 and not 25 to get it.
