Does anyone know when 8.4 release I’m really looking forward to it

    I’m expecting March also. I was really surprised that the Beta launched pretty much at the same time as Necro - particularly given how much less testing they would get as people were instead focusing on the new content. The only reason to do it on that timing would be an earlier planned launch.

If I were, I’d tell the team May is far too late (especially if there are reduced paths again) and to expect the hew and cry for 8.4.4 to start building as early as Valentine’s (especially if next month is a sloggy EQ/SQ month). Early or even mid-March should give them plenty of time to drop a few juicy T4a frag offers to fill their coffers before July 4.

    Keep in mind, the intent of reduced paths isn't for faster releases, it is for more quality releases. There were many "filler" paths in 8.2 where it wasn't fun, wasn't engaging, and the only reason you did it was for exploration. Instead of having the quest designers create 36 paths with certain nodesets and defenders, they cut it down to 18 paths to lighten the workload and have more quality in the paths so they don't feel like "filler" paths.

    Also the unique boss of the chapter takes forever to design.

    It better come out soon. As someone wedged between Paragon and Valiant, and having ZERO interest in exploring Necropolis, this is a very frustrating wait for 8.4 to release. I’m already starting to resent the game, so I hope it rolls out like tomorrow.

    That’s fair—I recall Miike talking about curated or bespoke encounters or some other kind of boutique-y comment about creating paths for the end of Act 8.

    That suggests they are now focused on *designing* content (which is kind of their jobs). I’m all for that—but it shouldn’t happen at the cost of putting out SQ at a reasonable pace. Beta from November to April-May release (if that’s the case) would be nearly half a year. That feels a bit long.

    Act 8.2 is released on April 19 2023 I think, which is 3rd Wednesday of that month, So I think act 8.4 come around April 17 2024,3rd wednesday, exactly after a year-2 days.

    Remember that you want to open 8.4 completion+exploration and act 8 completion+exploration all together.

    So explore other chapters before the launch.
    and on the launch date, Complete all explore all quests except the final one.
    then prepare yourself for boss, Find a hour to spare, Then go get the 3 wins together, And it's sweet opening time!

    That's what I'm planned to do.

    Since we are at 8.4 discussion I want to ask another question.

    Do you think is it worth to explore Necropolis after 8.4 launch? You already get to variant with necro completion and act 8 exploration, So do you think running 5 more paths, which costs atleast 10k units worth of grind, is worthy for getting another r3 champ who is just an extra firepower and won't achieve you any title. Sure there are other rewards, but the main focus of exploration is r3 generic gem.
