The most overlooked reason why champions can not be nerfed currently.

I'd love to say that the most obvious reason champions should not be nerfed is overlooked, but I think it's more accurate to say that it is glossed over instead. The amount of outcry from the devs on how many champions they want nerfed has increased dramatically lately. You've no doubt heard about the main champions that designers want to nerf, but the more involved you get in the community, such as listening to their personal livestreams, or seeing their opinions typed in various chat rooms, then you'll quickly see how deep this goes. The list of champions they say they want nerfed is extensive and includes heroes you may not realize like Hulk, Juggernaut or Scorpion.

There is an extremely clear and objective reason why nerfing any champion should not be considered any time soon. This game, as they have stated on the live streams, is built around intentionally charging you a resource to participate in content. This just means that at a minimum you will be spending something to participate, such as energy, and at maximum(necropolis) you will be spending a very significant amount. This focus on skilled performance is why a lot of us end game players love this game, but unlike other games that just take your time or effort when they are bugged or broken, this game takes your resources, which often leads to taking your real money. The issue is that this game has been critically broken due to inputs, animations, and AI over the last 3 years, but it has continued to charge you for mistakes. Normally this would lead to a game's downfall, but summoners have adapted and learned to use the champion designers' mistakes to balance out input, animation, and AI mistakes. This unintentional balance has acted as life support for a game that they have been unable to repair for 3 years. For example, if parry failed and you were using Hercules then it was still fair. No harm... no foul.

The developers are doing their best not to mention how broken the fundamental aspects of this game are, which seems fair enough not to dwell on them if there isn't a fix in sight. Due to this, however, none of the conversations that they have presented on matters of nerfing our champions take this balance into consideration. By doing so they completely gloss over the objective fact that this game would be extremely unfair fundamentally without champions that help us deal with a poorly functioning game designed to charge you for its mistakes. If you can't fix the game, but still want to nerf the one thing that keeps this game remotely fair, then for the life of this game, you will have to find another way to bring balance to how unfair it would become.

    ....

I do think you are speaking to how many players feel (at least those in my alliance and those in the Youtube comments), but whether the devs really appreciate the nature of bugs in the game I have my doubts. So, I don't think devs will be stopped from champ changes just because of other issues in the game.

When people call you Alex Jones they may be meaning it as a personal attack. But remember that beyond the exaggerated nature of his claims, there is generally some evidence that eventually comes to late that make his ideas seem much less conspiratorial.

    Your point is...?

That if they keep talking and write a post that rivals Ulysses in length, you'll blindly agree with OP if it means you don't have to keep reading.

    1. I do think he is echoing how many players feel. Not just about this game, but about how some players feel in every online game I've played. The number of dev studios that factor that into their balance decisions: as far as I can recall, zero. Why? Because balance problems are actual problems. Nerfs are not a reward the devs give themselves for doing a good job. Saying they should ignore balance problems until they solve input problems is nonsensical. Regardless of whether some players might not want champs nerfed, ignoring balance problems is no different than ignoring AI problems or input problems or stability problems.

    2. No. Just no.
I agree with both of these points

This community is shockingly clueless as usual. I literally heard DLL say EXACTLY THAT on a live stream. No foil hats necessary, you can listen to a DESIGNER say precisely what I claimed they are saying on his live stream about wanting to nerf Hulk, Juggernaut, Scorpion etc. It's getting to where number of dislikes has an inverse relationship with how correct someone is. I'll wait here while you toddlers go watch the vods.

DNA conflating what a game "feels like" with how much money it actually costs players, shows his impractical and ever idealistic view on "game design" at it's worst. It's a fact that regardless of how balanced the game is, that if it's too unfair... it will die. If you want to nerf all the champs they claim to want to nerf then that's fine, but my suggestion was merely to fix the inputs first, then prioritize balance second.

it took you a month and half to write that?

Maybe if I had a penny for every time you've been proven wrong on these forums, I could afford to quit my job and spend every day of my miserable life here like you do. Until then, see you in a month.

You're definitely trying to prove something. What that is..... I have no clue. Hope you feel better soon

This is one of the best stated posts. I’ve read here in a long time and hit the nail exactly on the head. And if the words weren’t enough proof Someone rallied the disagree troops to hurry in spam this post with disagrees. Which is a first shift from years ago when critical posts were agreed with more than disagreed with, but now that the game is more broken it is interesting how speaking critical in a post get you disagreed with quickly

Which is why rebalancing has begun from 2022 so they have tuned up and tuned down champs when the rebalance period came up for each champ and those they felt were fine as they are they left it as it is.

The only reason (as far as I think) is that when everyone realizes how broken a champion is, its too late, people have already spent on the champion and upgraded them to max, nerfing the champ after that is tedious as it can cause outrage and is generally unhealthy for the game.

The same points were also stated after namor was nerfed, around the forums and by many creators specifically Seatin, as the nerfed was made after like 2months of his release(approx) which many players didn't like and compensations had to be made.
