Game Error: Unknown Error Has Occurred When Leveling or Ranking Up The Serpent

I was leveling up The Serpent from the Champion list and, when I reached "Max Level 20" the error "An unknown error has occurred. Please try again later." popped with the OK button mislabeled as MS_ID_UI_OK. When I tapped the OK button the app crashed. I reopened the and returned to rank up The Serpent and the same error occurred. Again, I tapped on the OK button and the app crashed.

I tried to reproduce this with The Serpent now R3. I leveled up to Level 40 and then ranked to 4/4. This time the app did not crash.

STEPS:
Tap on Champions
Find The Serpent 3* in the list
Level up to the R1 max

EXPECTED RESULT
The Serpent is maxed at level 1 and you can rank up to level 2

ACTUAL RESULT
The Serpent is maxed out at 1 and an error is thrown and the app crashes.

VERSION: 1312379
DEVICE: iPhone 12 Pro
iOS 17.3.1
GAME MODE: All
ACTIVE BOOSTS: None
CHAMPS AFFECTED: 3* The Serpent

    I had something similar happen after I ascended my 6* yesterday.

    Didn't think to screwnshot it at the time, though.

    @Ebakes848 no solution and no response from the dev team. Makes me wonder why they even have this bug reporting section of the forum

    I guess I haven't been playing long enough to recall those times.

    I was a software tester for over 25 years, and also UI/UX designer for 10 of those years. I have low opinions and expectations of developers.
