Season 19 BG Starting Point Incorrect [resolved, additional comms]

So I ended last season in Gladiator's Circuit however .. this is what I showed when entering Battlegrounds. It says I finished in Plat 2 ... what the what??!

This ist no solution. I was in Gladiator Circus and now I start in Gold 5 and need to climb a million ranks? Time is the most valuable resource and I dont have the time for this. And the most brutal Thing is that we need to go Up to Vibranium 1 to get the deathless Vision piece. And on top of this I did not receive my rewards after the 5 wins. Please fix this Problem. This is a big slap in the face.

Kabam have failed to consider the deathless piece in this season and that’s a big issue. It needs to be moved out of vibranium. Diamond is probably where it needs to go now

Totally agreed. Llaced Diamond 4 last season and now I am back in Silver 4. Why should only people that reach Diamond 1 and higher get compensation? Doesn't make any sense. Why make us even grind for compensation when they messed up?

Match 1: Disconnected at fight end. Fight restarted with exactly zero seconds

Match 2: Game freeze prevented my bans. Other player disconnected.

Match 3: Unable to select attacker for second match. Game chose for me.

So far…nice way of making the climb “easier”

All of this start to S19 is a colossal screw up no matter the compensation given.

Update here.

Quick summary: Gameteam added a bunch of 7-Star Shards and Titan Shards to the higher brackets to offset the additional grind.

Excuse me, Jax. But team added 7* shards for everyone, right? So, even player who did not play BG previous season can now play and reach these rewards. So, everybody gets this compensation regardless of their previous efforts and start point. But, where then there a compensation for those who actually played previous season? I suppose there should be compensation for those who played and got lower starting point.

The BG fights are bugged. Missing frames. No armor breaks. Unable to punish heavies or specials. Getting parried. Defenders blocking my striker and specials after being hit. Then the disconnect bug after a solid win gives the defender the victory. And to top it off this is right after the Modok bugs in Raids. Which we still have not heard a word from Kabam. The game should be fun not frustrating.

Can we get a confirmation that all the elder marks we would’ve gotten after 5 matches are just gone?

I get that I can fight my way through all these levels and earn milestones, but now I’m either burning marks I wouldn’t have needed to use to reach that level, or I’m using energy and getting no meaningful solo or alliance points.

Off topic here but I thought we are supposed to get 1 token for losing and 2 for winning. I’m not getting any tokens nor did my opponent for winning. Is a visual bug? I don’t know if I’m moving up or down. I won a match and didn’t get the tokens either.

Oh I thought they changed to help move through the levels. I’m not 100% sure but I thought I read it on discord that they were changing the structure on loses to to keep players discouraged from playing. Maybe I read it wrong haha. Not sure.

Higher levels of VT were plus or minus one. With a 50% win rate, it was hard to advance. Now all are 2/-1

The shards are nice; doesn't stop them from being pure RNG and we are using more resources because of this screw up.

As a counterpoint to all the love for adding shards to BG advancement, I’d submit the following…

If you hit GC regularly, 15K 7* shards is nice but hardly game-breaking. There are a lot of 7*’s (duped and at high sig) among the rosters of 20K+ prestige players, and even quite a few for players in the ranges just shy of there.

And while half a Titan gets you 50% further along, there’s still the pesky matter of pRNG. Winding up with that third Morb dupe or first time Sable, Thing or Nova could (quite understandably) present a phone-shattering inducement.

What puzzles me is the absence of things that might make the extra (and it is extra) grind more bearable in lieu or in addition to the shiny carrots at the end of Diamond and Vibranium.

It is, frankly, discouraging.

Heaped onto the seeming inability of the team to fix things like double medium parry, striker failures, AI issues, champ problems (Galan, e.g.)—not to mention simple mechanics issues that have once again become recurrent—it is something I will think long and hard about when all the hyperventilating chatter about 7/4 offers fires up.
