I suspect that. If it was silk, either of them would've won but the poll would be too close.
While silk is faster and can handle more matchups in general, remember chavez can do serpent and maestro, two common headaches in bgs.
They are both excellent, and that’s why I have them both R3 lol. Silk is just so good for everything, she never leaves my team when I’m questing. But Chavez does have her high points.

Yes, while silk isn't the best, I can say she is my most used r3 champs, and definitely the one I use the most in bgs besides cgr. She just hits so hard and her evade utility is a lifesaver.

You even use her more than spam? I figured spam could take more matchups faster. Though silk is better for onslaught

I use spam on defense nowadays. Silk is more straightforward but spam have better damage.
Silk and Chavez are arguably the top champs in their class at 7*s. I have both at r3 and would favor Silk slightly. Chavez has damage and utility, but Silk is just straight up NASTY.

Actually i would argue spam is much easier to use than silk. Silk needs a lot more AI cooperation on her backdraft /light intercept to build the debuffs up before doing the mlll heavy into relic. And since AI is a mess nowadays I left her at r2 whereas leaning to r3 spam even unawakened. The AI atm barely ever plays into intercepts
Silk would’ve been my choice if mine was duped. I was lucky enough to get her when she was first released so I’ve had her for well over a year without getting her duped. However I didn’t expect Chavez to win by this large of a margin. So up Chavez went.
