Cap's Solute

One of my biggest regrets in mcoc is not getting the cap saluting emote. It's such a good way to show good sportsmanship in bgs. I'd love it if there was an event where we had a change to get it again. Also think emote crystals would be great. It'd be fun to spin and try to get new emotes. Maybe if it's a "dupe" we would then get some shards or random consumables instead.

I always use the redhead i think bw emote, but if i had the cap salute one i would use it

and i don't like the laughing loki emote when people use it after winning a close match, it's kind not very respectful

Kabam have to make cap salute default.
I don't use it, but when someone uses it, I sure want to reply with it.
My alt was too weak to reach gc those two seasons, and now we don't get to salute players.

Agreed. This is salute needs to be given to every player or at least purchasable…. Though it’s a shame you would be required to spend units in order to show good sportsmanship. And it says a lot that basically no other emote conveys this.

I use the cap for close wins, for scrub accounts that actually play the rounds with effort or when I am legit outplayed.

Loki is for when I properly screw up, score 4 digit points and still win.

On that note, just out of curiosity, does Longshot emoji mean you (your opponent) played well?

He looks too cheesy with that grin- I usually take it as a mocking like Loki. I only use cap’s salute.

I spam crying baby pool, Loki laughing and sunspot sunspotting if I’m feeling salty.

    Oh dear really?

I always thought is a way to say you've played well.

Well I guess I will stop that using that one then.

Yeah I alway use the Cap's salute at the beginning and end anyway.

I don't have the Cap salute emote either unfortunately.. I like to use the Sunspot adjusting his cufflinks emote when I loose a close match though. Almost like saying "Meh.. nice win.. I'll get you next time" kinda deal lol..

Personally I want an emote that signifies "damn I really chose a bad counter to your defender, guess my brain slipped for a minute lol" in a way that makes it clear that I'm in fact not stupid most of the time lmao.

I made a thread for this. They should just sell it. But alas threads like that aren't probably seen by Kabam.

Out of curiosity, would it be too much if the emotes were slightly animated? 🤔

Give this man a high five and a key to the city! Love this idea

Generally speaking, if an opponent sends anything but the cap emote (I.e. one of the snarky ones), they get the iron fist emote back. Subtle, yet not too subtle way of saying ‘read between the lines’.

I use the spiderman shooting web when I draft a spider character and spider ham getting bopped on the head when I make a mistake. Dogpool is just a great fun one

I use the spider pig emote when I mess up or if they have a bad matchup/don't do well. Also a fan of the Warlock when things don't go well for either of us.

Personally I’ve always taken the Longshot thumbs up emote as a genuine “good job on that round” message, so I’ll vouch that it’s not universally perceived as a taunt like the Loki laughing one.

Man, emotes have a total different interpretation for each person; but Longshot is not giving a thumb up.. he is actually pointing at you lol
For some reason every time I see Longshot's emote I get the feeling I got Carlness

I missed that emote too. They need to bring it back.

I use the Spam getting hit with a mallet whenever I screw up a match. I try to always use the cap pointing as the closest equivalent to the cap salute. As for the Longshot one, I don't have it but when it's used I see it as a "hey, good one!" message.

I thoroughly dislike the laughing Loki one, and think less of anyone who uses it, especially when they use it after winning. That may well not be fair, but it's definitely the emotion it gives off.

I sometimes like using the sunspot in a suit one if I nail a tricky match, but it still feels too arrogant.

So many times I've thought that a chat would be great, until I remember that like 95% of the internet is awful people and those chats would be ridiculoualy toxic almost every time.

This one is for when I throw a round to draw out a particularly annoying defender or their best attacker knowing I have the next rounds covered.

honestly titles and profile pics really don’t mean a whole lot (personal opinion). BG emotes? direct impact, actually communicating with another player. Cap’s salute for a nod to skill, token of good sportsmanship should 100% be default. besides, Steve’d want everyone to have it…

fwiw I usually only use the Black Widow emote for “yes, I pulled that off!’, and the weepy little Hela for “yup, you just handed me the L I just earned”.

    100% agreed.

There was a thread not long ago asking for more sportsmanly “Cap-like” emojis.

Suggestions included a BP Wakanda salute, a Thor with hammer raised, Spidey thumbs up and a couple others I can’t recall. I think Miike or Jax piped up approvingly, but since they left it doesn’t seem like anyone took up the mantle.

As an aside, I’m not a fan of the Longshot emoji—it seems cheesy and a little snarky. After a close loss, it makes me want to punch the opponent.
