AW persistent defenders reset / disappeared for half the alliance in S53

Did anyone else have about Half their alliance’s AW persistent defenders disappear between 3rd and 4th war of season 53 (right now) disappear? We spent last 3 wars getting diversity maxed with some of our new players only to have half of them disappear just now.

It’s super annoying to monitor and police this already, let alone have Kabam reset half of it which might make us start all over again. Cane we understand if this was a known issue that I can plan for or is this just a random occurrence?

    From your description, it sounds like the alliance went up or down an AW map difficulty tier. This happens as your AW rating goes up or down after each match

    See attached chart - there are several points where you change map difficulty like between tiers 9 and 10 or tiers 5 and 6

    When you do change, you get different defender nodes and the defenders you placed from prior difficulty won't automatically be there. Everyone has to place a second time

    Good news is everyone can place defenders on 3 map difficulty tier at any time- their current difficulty and the ones immediately above and below that. Another option is officers can select to have only a single defender placement that will apply to all difficulties until you change it - this option is on the "next war" tab in AW

    @KoiBoy18 thanks! Unfortunately not the easy solution, we were on hard map before and still on hard map, our tier didn’t change either between wars. Good thought nonetheless, I will save having a button to copy over to other maps would be great for another thread, lol.

    Doesn’t seem like this happened widespread which causes me angst. We don’t use a communication app so trying to coordinate everyone to get defenders back in before the next war starts is difficult, let alone the de-duping process… herding cats…

    Either (above). Moved up a Map Tier, and most people had not bothered placing into the “+/- potential tiers” ahead of time. Which is what it sounds like if SOME (but not ALL) of defenders were lost.

    As they mentioned, there is an Auto-Placement setting which will carry forward the same defenders into new Map Tiers as you move up (or down), to the same nodes they were in in prior map (which may not be where you want them in new map). So people will not have to remember to place defenders in the (+) UP Map Tier each time you move up.

    Or also, maybe someone had just flipped the setting switch for “Auto Clear” defenders. Was it in whole BG's that they disappeared ? (setting is next to the other setting mentioned above). Only useful for 1 or 2 BG alliances that want to rotate people in and out each war.

    @SummonerNR thanks for checking in. it was spread out across all 3 of our BGs, some more than others. Again, we didn’t switch maps either, but it did seem a whole lot like a problem that would occur if we did. We started the current war on Hard map, same map we had in previous war.

    We are on auto for the war defenders and we don’t have any of the auto clear boxes checked. It also happened mostly to newer members of the alliance but even that wasn’t exactly true. What’s strangest is that the war defenders that were already still on the map were not the same defenders we had in the previous war…. Again, very similar to how you stated as if we switched maps and it was mostly folks that hadn’t populated the other level maps but again, we did not switch maps.
