After store update, The BG Trophy Token budget is horribly unbalanced

ArmoredGhostArmoredGhost Member Posts: 213 ★★★
With the update to the BG store I don't think players are able to get enough trophy tokens per season.

From the victory track we get about 60,000 trophy tokens
From the 48-hour objectives we get 16,800
From alliance events we get a max of 27,900
This totals for a max of 104,700
You can also get a bit of tokens from the GC ranging from 10,000-70,000 (Personally I tend to range between Arcane and Gamma tiers for a 17,500-27,500 range)

So in this scenario I'll use a maximum of about 130,000 trophy tokens per season.

IMO the two biggest draws are the 7* shards for aquisition and the t4ac for rank ups. To get 10,000 7* shards you need to spend 35,000 tokens per refresh cycle. To get t4ac you need 20,000 trophy tokens. Over a course of 4 weeks for a BG season this would amount to 140,000 trophy tokens If you wan't to focus on 7* shards and 80,000 for t4ac. If you would try to get both you would need 220,000 tokens per season well above what players can get.

T6CC is also still very desirable but it is 15,000 trophy tokens per week (60,000 per season) for 10 25% fragment crystals and 12,000 per week (48,000 per month) for 25% t6cc fragment selectors. Combined for a season this is worth 108,000 trophy tokens.

Even the t4 basic alloy fragments are 30,000 trophy tokens per week (120,000 per season)

So for the highest end resources, that totals 448,000 trophy tokens per season when most players can get a max of less than 1/3 of that!!! Even the #1 player in the world who could reach Celestial 1 with 70,000 trophy tokens might get 175,000 trophy tokens, barely over 1/3.

I understand that players shouldn't be able to get everything in the store (I wouldn't want that to be possible for balance of the game), but this budget barely allows for any resources. I would very much like to get more relics but why would I ever spend it on them when there are 7* shards to get champions? Why would I ever want to spend tokens on t6bc and t3ac when there is t4ac? Not to mention 6* shards, lower relic rank up mats, relic shards and some other resources.

Really? After the store update? I don't think they were giving out enough Token for buying out the store even before. It sounds like you're saying because they added T4A. They should have also handed out enough tokens to buy them.

If you could buy out the whole store easily, then you wouldn't ever need to make a decision. Since you can't buy out the store, you have to make decisions and choose what it is you want. I uses to just buy t6cc crystals, but now I just buy t4a since that's about all I want from it.

Knowing how to budget resources in a game is a skill that will also translate to real life. Unless you're someone like Elon Musk, you'll never be able to buy out the entire store weekly irl.

The bg store is not there for us to get everything every week it is a source for us players to get resources we need as we see fit such as either rank up materials or crystal shards you can also split those things such as getting crystal shards and rank up materials also as far as the end game side it is still cheaper now to get 5k 7* shards then before the update almost 20k to now 17500k

The only stuff matters to me is t4a and t6cc crystals. Both are worth the money

T6cc selectors are okay if you're targeting a specific class but it would be nice if the limit was 10.

7* crystals are extremely overpriced considering it's almost 2 years since 7* release. 2000 tokens for 1000 shards sounds reasonable to me.

R3 relic resources are just a joke. I would never take any person seriously if they are buying t4 alloy lmao.

You lost me when you said you'd like to get relics from BG shop

6* relics are really valuable and the BG store is the only store that sells 6* relic shards

I made a point to say that I don't think we should be able to get everything but we should at least be able to get more than we currently can. If you wanted the very top value items you wouldn't be able to get 1/3rd of them. And that is if you also ignore any of the other resources in the store.

I used to max out 6* relic shards previously but after the buff it looks like another waste if tokens. 800 for 500 frags sounds too high I'll say 1200 for 1000 frags is fine.

Of course we shouldn't be able to get everything. But we can still manage resources if we had some more tokens. I'm trying to hunt down 7* onslaught and serpent and a few others so I tend to focus on the 7* shards. This currently prevents me from getting anything else in the store since to get all the 7* shards in a season requires 140,000 tokens while I only average 130,000 a season. I do think we should be able to get just a bit more than that.

each store has "bargains" and over priced items... Focus on getting the right items from the right store, and not trying to buy everything.

For me BGs store has never been about the "top tier" resource, but the next tier down, and sometimes lower. t6CC is a good price. T4B was a bargain until it was snatched away from us. But 7 star shards are a total rip off from the store, even after the update. Maybe 7 star stones, so that when you overpay, you can at least choose who you are investing in, vs. spending all your artifacts for 20 more sigs on some champ you don't care for.

All that said - I do hope that the BG store is regularly evaluated going forward, so that as endgame materials become naturally devalued over time, that the prices for these items are also adjusted accordingly

And sadly the updates to the store have been a little too late always.
But this update, despite being late, it wasn't that late compared to the kabam norms.
I don't have much to complain about this one.
    ....

    ....
I'm skipping shards at all cost.
7* shards were premium, they are not that premium atm. Everything catalyst wise is cheaper, but shards remained the same aka overpriced for current state.
Like most of us have already completely stopped buying 6* shards, we are moving towards not touching 1k 7* shards for 3500 tokens.

I'm getting 5 t6cc as they are still not at all easy to get. And is buying 10 t4a.
    I occasionally buy celestial alloys.
My weekly expenditure in general have increased from
    24k (10 t6cc) to 27.5k (5 t6cc + 10 t4a)
    It alright.

I agree with some points but 7* shards are still extremely valuable if you want to dupe champs you already have or if you are still missing some vital meta champs like serpent and onslaught in my case. I always prefer acquisition over rank ups

Champs will come. I pulled silk and domino few days ago first time.
I don't have way too many basic pool champs. It's a massive list of op BG champs.
But what I have is an army of ranked up champs.(f2p) My only option with the stores in general, is to go with guaranteed value resources. Shards are gamble in alredy gambling driven game.

I was getting shards here and there before store update. Not worth it anymore as it literally remaind the same price while everything on catalyst side got cheaper.

7 star shards should be cheaper, around 2700 tokens

    My response starts here

Actually if you only do the 5k it's cheaper even if you did the full 10k it would still be cheaper than what it was before the update it was 19k+ to get 5k before the update now it is 17.5k to get 5k shards
