Jax in the video a year ago said collect all 4 deathless champs to earn a special 5th champ thanos. By collecting all 4 we did the work and earned thanos. The quest better be the easiest quest ever and have no elements of a 4 phase ridiculous endgame boss fight.

That is in fact 100% incorrect they have always stated that you will have to collect all 4 champions and then use them in a quest to get Thanos

I just rewatched the stream where this was mentioned. Crashed said “the only way to get the 5th champion will be to use the first 4 in something. We don’t know exactly what as it is a year away.” So it wasn’t anything that was said to be free by obtaining the first 4.

Thanks for not making me look for it.

The Deathless chase was always described as an end game chase, and always described as being something that would be difficult to get and require play across the game to get, and it was always stated that one of the reasons to collect the four base deathless champs is you would need to use them to acquire the fifth. They also stated repeatedly that the first four might be a bit niche, but the last one was intended to be "very powerful" and "very meta" (meaning useful in a lot of the high end game mode metas).

The OP echoes an all too common theme: what the game outta be. And it always outta be something where they get more free stuff, or where the game operates in exactly the way most convenient for them. However, the Deathless champs are not a gift, they were always sold as end game fodder, and as end game fodder it would be nonsensical for any of them to be easy to get. That runs contrary to how all end game content works in all games in this or any other galaxy.

I don’t really mind if it’s difficult as long as it is permanent content. There’s just so much difficult content out right now, especially if you have to buy a piece or two of a deathless champ, plus the banquet event, it’s just simply to many units to cover all of this. It’s it’s permanent, whatevs, I actually prefer this, it’s it something to work towards whenever there’s a dry month. If it’s times however, that really really sucks.

Yep, I agree with this sentiment as well. I haven't had a problem with the previous pieces being mostly in timed content because that was part of the fun - having things to do throughout the year - but right now there's a lot of endgame things to do in the game. I enjoy that, but I hope that there aren't too many timers to it.

To answer OP's post: what's the point of collecting all of these champions if not to actually use them? I'm excited to get some content that's specifically tailored to them, where I can see them shine and reveal their full potential. I hope it's permanent content for several reasons but I have no problem if it's nail-bitingly hard. That's part of the fun of this whole Deathless initiative.

I don’t think they’ll make it a super challenging event to get Deathless Thanos as we know the team will be required to do a full abyss run which will likely be a unit sink even with all the buffs and extras thanos will have in his arsenal to help. I’m thinking it may even be some kind of gauntlet event where we just fight our way through some buffed up versions of the deathless champs with deathless thanos boss.

We've seen how easy or difficult it has been to acquire most of the deathless pieces. It is highly unlikely that acquiring Deathless Thanos will be easier than that. It might not be ridiculously hard, but it depends on whether the way we get DT is time limited or not. If it is time limited, I would expect it to be difficult but not too difficult. If it is a permanent challenge you can do at any time in the future, it could be substantially harder than anything else yet, comparable to or possibly harder than the Carinas Necro challenges.

Another thread of poorly construed assumptions by the OP with then demands of "better do this" "better do that" "or else"... lol

The level of difficulty acceptable would be the shooting stars quest anything harder is just tone deaf. It shouldn’t be a 5 hour necro run or crucible run. It should be fun and relatively easy to beat.
