SEIZURES PREVENTION OPTION

Hi Kabam,

I would like to formally request that you implement an option in Marvel Contest of Champions to reduce in fights flashes. I have been playing this game for years, love it, I run several accounts, and in the last 6 months or so I had to gradually dial down my on-screen time due to causing cybersickness, kind of similar to motion sickness but comes from all the movement and the many many bright flashes that occur in fights. I am fairly sure it is a very simple option to implement to just turn off most of the flashes or reduce bright whites. If anyone is experiencing similar issues please show your support.

Thanks a mill.

    (fyi, @peixemacaco )

Actually, XenoMorf, don’t go checking out any of Champ” posts from above up here, they could lead to that, just like some of the fights in game you are referring to.

I know there was a bad “flashing” one for some new champ in game a while back, and Kabam did tone it down in short order afterwards.
But in some more recent ones they seem to forgot to take that into account.

(and then there was the initial IMIW “pounding crash” sound that blared out your device speakers, forget if it was in an SP 1 or 2 ?? That they quickly fixed too)

I am aware of certain scenarios that have/had really bright flashes @peixemacaco and thank you for your feedback but my point is a bit more generalized. There are flashes (explosions, lightnings, light beams, etc) in almost every fight. I am simply asking that an option is implemented to turn off or dramatically reduce those super bright whites gamewide. I am playing other games too and I've noticed that only those that have these flashes cause headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness. I think this is an emerging problem in our current digital world with all the people spending so much time on screen. And game makers do want us to spend as much time as possible playing, right? Well, I'd like that too but in a safe way. As I mentioned before, I am playing for years and only after I turned 40+ I started noticind these issues. It started by worsening my vision, need new glasses every year now. Then the dizziness and lightheadedness started especially when I play for hours in the late evenings. At times it is so bad that I'm worried I'm about to have a seizure. I don't think I'm asking much, surely it's much simpler implementation than the 60 fps we recently got after years of waiting. Furthermore, I think all game makers should consider this. It would not hinder the full gaming experience for other players since it could be an on/off option but would make things safer for those of us that are probably more sensitive to this kind of problem. Thanks again.

@XenoMorf this is really a thing to be debated

More about the game itself ,why do you still take the risk playing some games as Mcoc even as they wont do anything about it?

As @SummonerNR said ,they did a thing or another , but not with new champs.

So...im not saying you need to stop playing Mcoc, but saying, take care with it.

If is better for your overall health, stop.

Dont get great expectations that they will fix for you to play.

I think this shouldn't be for debate.

This should be an option, games should be accessibile for all and having accessibility is like usually the bare minimum for 2024 and something that should very much be put into place especially on a live service game where it's easy to pick up and play with simplistic controls.

Mobile gameplay is one of the most accessible forms of gaming so accessibility should be continued to be focused on, to say it's debatable just sucks since you can't play a game for reasons outside of your control.

Yeah, I think seizure prevention is one of those must-have features in games. I don't have any experience with such seizures, nor do I have any experience developing games, so I don't know if it's something that's very easy or very hard to do right. However, considering the risks that can follow if you don't account for it in the game, I definitely think it's something that should be alleviated to the best of their ability.

It is a health concern more and more so. Possibly not everyone is as sensitive to these brigh light flashes - which mcoc has plenty of in fights - but definitely some are more proned than others. It is a very simple thing to do, just have to add an option to lower the white point in game and voila, done and all can safely play.

And to answer @peixemacaco I would much rather mot have to just stop playing the game(s) if it's an easy fix, which it is technically speaking. And I'm fairlyy sure the game makers don't want us to stop playing either, nor lower our on-screen time. Therefore this is a win-win situation.

So please, if antyone knows where to post this so that someone in kabam actually sees it, do so. This discussion seems very limited here and it might be overlooked.

    Thank you.

@XenoMorf I think you understood what I said.

"If" no way to Kabam to do this, it would be safer for your health to maybe stop.

How do you know it is an easy fix, technically speaking? Because, honestly, I doubt it is. It's not like adding one line of code to turn off animations.
