Not really relevant for BGs, but he has some fun synergies. Prowler and Spidey Supreme add some fun stuff for him.
he is definitely a relevant defender for bgs, very few counters aswell
Champs who deal non-energy damage are "very few"?
Any contact attacks deals 38% of damage back. Only shuri, negasonic and DAAR champs can ignore the damage back completely.
But the kit says: "receive a Static Shock for 38% of the damage they inflicted as Energy Damage." So if no damage was inflicted as Energy Damage, wouldn't you receive 0 damage back? I'm confused.
No. Any contact hit that you do and deal damage can be dealt back to you as energy damage. Whether you deal Physical or energy damage to electro, the damage he reflects is always energy damage
Yes, I tested him just now and I stand corrected. You guys are right. But the kit phrasing is so misleading it makes me wonder whether this is a bug and he was only meant to reflect energy damage.
I can see where the confusion comes from. But it's not really misleading. Maybe a slight ambiguity depending on how you read it.
"Electro is gonna guarantee to do damage if you don't have a direct counter for him".
"But Falcon's lock on bypasses it. Champs like Namor and Dazzler shred him"
"I've encountered a lot of maxed out Electros in GC over quite a few metas we've had. So many that I had Namor in my deck for a while just to counter him"
"Yeah hes annoying. You need a direct counter for him".
"He's a menace. Just because of his damage reflect. It forces you to have to throw the round possibly, or keep a direct counter for him in the deck and just hope to draft if they do".
"I hate Electro's h** a** lol I’ve been debating on ranking him myself no BS. That damage back is annoying lol"
"I could see him being extremely annoying as a late round BG pick"
Underrated champion for sure, he’s been able to shine in BattleGrounds based on its pure unpredictability. W rank up.
Awesome! I'm looking forward to this season lol
This is going to be an annoying season I think. Like, even Isophyne got me a defensive W this morning, lol.
Very annoying already! Only a handful of champs actually counter this Hazard Shift. This is typically an AW and quest node where teams are used, so I wonder why did it have to be brought into BGs where you can only choose one champ? What is there to gain from it being in BG's?

Yeah, I don't like it either. I don't want to reshuffle my entire deck for this node, and probably couldn't do it anyway with my limited roster. Hopefully I can still make it to GC this season...

Same. The Decay tag is limited with 7*'s. There is only 1 Mystic, and no Techs. Wow.
I don't understand; his kit says "Opponents that make contact with you receive a Static Shock for 38% of the damage they inflicted as Energy Damage." So why the focus on non-contact champs instead of champs that deal physical and direct damage instead of energy. That's not a narrow list.
Because you’re reading it wrong.
The damage reflected is energy damage from electro to the opponent.
So Electro is a "they" now too, like Isophyne? I don't claim I'm right but I'm definitely not reading the sentence wrong. It could be phrased incorrectly but that would be the issue. Otherwise, in "Opponents that make contact with you receive a Static Shock for 38% of the damage they inflicted as Energy Damage," "they" has to refer to "opponents" because pronouns replace nouns, and here "they" matches "opponents" in number (plural), is closest to it in the sentence, and makes sense as the ones causing the damage.
You literally explained it yourself.
'They' are indeed the opponent.
They receive a static shock for 38% of the damage they inflicted...
It really couldn't be a lot clearer. Possibly a comma so that it reads "damage they inflicted, as Energy damage"...?

I already admitted above that I was wrong. What more do you want, lol....
I had been wondering how he would perform on defense for a while now, so went ahead and pulled the trigger.
He reflects static shock when hit. Took him for a few practice runs to guage the damage reflection. Only one champ so far, Shuri, doesn't receive damage from this, so other attackers are guaranteed to loose health. Some more than others based on damage they deal to him, and class disadvantage. Mystics take more damage, with Enchantress appearing taking less. But again, it's based on damage dealt to him.
I conclusion: He might be a solid defender, or enough of a distraction. His healthpool is traaaaaassshhh, but at least being on defense would boost it.
To my surprise, he's been banned a few times already 😂
And when on defense, looks like he caused a few problems. At least enough to add to the loss of health.

Any decay champ can counter hazard shift since once you stack 4-5 deburfs you'll ignore all red damage. But still Hazard shift is too OP for VT. It should be just decay + sugar pill in VT imo
True, but DPX takes too long to build the charges and the bleed doesn’t last long enough. He’s not a good hazard shift counter this meta despite being saga attacker.
@Glassback not only dpx but 75% of decay attackers suck this meta since hazard shift applies to all defenders, not only just sugar pill defenders. But decay champs inflict withers mainly against sugar pill defenders alone. So if you're running a decay attacker against a non decay defender, like bullseye for example, you have to rely on the debuffs these champs inflict via their ability. So champs like dpx and hulk kinda suck against non tactic defenders. That's why hazard shift is a bad defense tactic for VT.

This is what happened yesterday. I don't know anything about DPX's buff. If what you're saying is true, how did they do this? I'm not doubting you, I'm asking out of curiosity.
Mine get's banned. And when on Defensex, he does enough to put a lot of pressure on the opponent lol. I really wish he had a better healthpool though 😔

Can you elaborate on this for a noob like me? I get that "hazard shift applies to all defenders" this season in BG, correct. But what are sugar pill defenders exactly? The sugar pill BG node applies to all defenders, too, no?

Great
One champ I want to rank to the max is M.O.D.O.K.
6 stars R3 now
