War bans and war globals are hurting alliance war

We asked for bans 2+ years ago because deaths were so low that each death was that much more stressful, and bans helped alleviate that pressure.
Globals are also kind of fun because we get to learn champions that we wouldn't normally use, but I think we've reached the point in AW and even a little in BGs where players are no longer in the driver's seat and we're just being told what do.
1. Bans mean we lose good champions for months, even if they're new. Wasted rankups, wasted crystal pulls.
2. Global attackers generally suck. Wasted rankups.
3. Combine both and alliance war causes a miserable icky feeling where B and C-list champions are all we can use.
I don't know how to keep war fresh, but being a passenger and ranking and using whoever we're told to instead of being an active participant isn't fun anymore.

there aren't 250 champs, there's only 20 something per global.
i'm not saying get rid of bans or even globals, but globals are becoming so restrictive, combined with the 5 bans, that we're no longer in control and have to be told who to bring. being a passive participant isn't fun anymore.
keep the bans and globals but give us more breathing room. this is starting to affect battlegrounds with decay/stevia being added last season.

You don't HAVE to bring those champs though. It might make it a little harder but there's still far more than 20 per global.
Please give an example of the 20 champs you can use against r5 ascended longshot on node 10 expert map. Bans are hulk, titania, silk, void, cassie.
Not complaining or taking sides but to say there are over 20 options for that fight just shows you don't know what you are talking about.
There are many other examples where you have only 2 or 3 options.
got silk from the featured 6* crystal, used her as much as i could for a handful of wars, banned this entire season, then gets blacklisted for the next 6-12(?) weeks.
waste of a champion, waste of a rankup. gets released in july and is more or less unusable for the next 6-7 months.
sell champions, force them on the bench, then release them when they're no longer as useful. is everyone ok with this system?
Yes
But overall still bans and blacklist are great.
herc was whitelisted during sugar pill/decay and he was useless then and he's more or less useless now in magic thief.
whitelists give the illusion of choice.
New tactics: no blacklist, ban 4
Old tactics: blacklist, ban 2.
The main issue is, tactics are untested and evil.
