Community Disagree Button

Well, as you know, every post or reply has its own emoticon below it. It consist of insightful, disagree, agree, like, awesome, and lol

Out of 6, the only one that has a negative aura obviously the disagree one. I knew that it doesn't mean that the information is totally false, but maybe the opinion in it may not the best by those people who clicks it.

But sometimes it reach to the point where it's kinda weird and like why.., I mean, sometimes when I tried to answer someone else question maybe by a fact, or something that I experienced, not even an opinion, I just farmed that legendary emoticon lol.

I don't make this post to against that emoticon, it's cool but yeah this is just out of my curiosity. I'm new here, and already farmed those thing (you can see in my profile that its my top achievement, maybe because I made a lot of writings, if I don't then I'm not getting it, but it's okay though, its cool to post something anyway).

Oh, there are more, it's spam and abuse, idk about that but apparently I got some point in abuse like yesterday or something, while I don't know what's going on lol

Before the Disagree button was there, Spam and Abuse were part of the reaction line. Now those 2 exist but I believe have to do with something in the background with moderation.

It doesn't matter what you say, someone will always hide behind the disagree button. Much like those people who report everyone they lose against in BGs, there are people who will press that reaction regardless of what's said. Just ignore them. They ultimately don't mean anything.

I have someone who literally follows my posts and disagrees on almost everything I see, I don’t know what it is, but a post could have 100 views, and nobody would use the reacts, then one person would just disagree, I actually find it kind of funny lol

It really is just this
A. Straight disagree with the post or opinion and/or
B. Troll reactions

It doesn’t matter how factual the opinion or post is rooted either it’s just an all encompassed negative feeling reaction.

I don't know what kind of reaction forum members expect to such topics with "disagreement" other than disagreement

Bro, I'm check again and it's just pure gold. Less than 24hrs I got like 37 gifts from you guys. It's kinda expected actually, because no one post this kinda stuff? Maybe I'm the original haha. People like to troll, especially for someone who exaggerated too much, I knew.

Anyway, its somewhat a milestone for me, it broke my record actually.

One note for you who gave me a disagree gift, and for you who have not yet give it, if that could put smile in your face (I'm sure you do), make your day better, just clicks it man, my post is here for you lol, it's easy to do. Peace

If you look at the accounts with the very high level disagrees it’s usually people who comment on almost every topic and usually always comments against the grain of the conversation - sometimes I imagine it’s genuine disagreement with the topic but other times I think they just do it because they enjoy arguing. When I think about times I use the disagree button it tends to be the same names that pop up. Either people deliberately being obtuse, combative or desperate (for Kabam to reward them or hire them)

I usually only bother disagreeing when someone posts something absolutely mind-bendingly stupid like the whole "take a month off from new content and fix the bugs" idiocy or when someone posts something objectively false.

Not terribly active on the forum, but I rarely press disagree, I don't see the point.

But when the weekend comes and the standard "Help me, I got banned, I'm innocent, I promise" thread pops up, it's raining disagrees from me too 🫣

Surely few of them would be doing it out of spite but if you get more than 4 or 5 I guess its pretty valid to say your comment did not make the discussion any better.

Maybe it did not make the discussion any better, or maybe it went against the grain of an echo chamber in the thread. It's probably better to just judge the posts on their substance instead of the reaction votes.

Long ago, you could see who put a Spam or Abuse reaction on a post. Anonymous reactions let trolls get their jollies by spamming disagrees.

With as many positive reactions, why have one negative one span the entire range? If a post is misleading or inaccurate, you should be able to flag it but also required to check one of a handful of boxes as to why.

If you disagree, a similar feature should apply—is it wrong, is it spam, is it unhelpful? Honestly, something like “unhelpful” is probably as useful as a blanket “disagree.”

I suppose the question is what the purpose of the forums is—is it here for mere chatter, or does it exist to try to answer questions, provide guidance, or help with game play and navigation?

They mean nothing. They don't prevent someone from posting. They don't limit your forum account in any way. The only way they mean something is if you take it personal what other people put.

A large chunk of those on my profile are just people doing it to do it. And most of those are just people clicking but never responded or defending the action. And it literally doesn't matter what I say. There's always someone who presses it.

The Disagree button was used, for lack of a better term, as troll bait.
Previously, there was a Spam and Abuse function that flagged comments and went into a section for Moderation to review. This congested the pile with....let's say unworthy comments....and became quite a burden for them to review. Currently the Guardians can flag I believe, but not us.
Anywhosit, the Disagree function was added as an innocuous way for people to express their....displeasure.
As someone who has amassed a few, I can honestly say that the majority of Disagrees on some Accounts are simply there out of habit for clicking it on anything some people say. So you can't always base your judgment on that number.
