Hey just wanna ask about the matching in aw and need some clearance about this because our alliance rank is p5 and we are facing opponents alliances that are p2 and p3 with players that have a much bigger roaster than us and im confused why are we a p5 alliance and facing p2 or p3 opponents. We have players with that rating of 4mil and out highest is like 4.8mil the opponent we are facing have 9mil each can u please look into it

Matchmaking is based on War Rating.
Assuming that you are and have always run 3 BG wars (otherwise, that could definitely skew your prior season's Plat standing, which is based on Points not War Rating).
And have you been at Plat 5 for several seasons (or just a bad season last season).
Or were facing Plat 2/3 alliances (have only been 2 wars so far this season (and off-season really might not be an indicator) that maybe had overachieved last season (relative to their War Rating).
Or facing Plat 2/3 finishers from last season, that tanked the entire off-season this time around, which was actually an extra 4 wars of off-season longer than normal. If indeed they were in tiers where off-season WarRating is allowed to go +/-.
Or similarly, your team pushed for wins all off-season here, and jumped up in War Rating, well above what your prior season ending rank had you at before.
Finally, when you say your Alliance *IS* in Plat-5. That's not really correct. You may have finished Plat-5 last season. But no alliance is *any* ranking right now, because rankings don’t start to be calculated for new season until several wars in, when teams have points from several wars (instead of just after 1-2 wars).
Can you check the war rating of your opponent? What was their rating?
Whatever your war rating is, you’ll be matched with an alliance of similar war rating.
Sometimes that means an alliance that’s doing the same as you, so same strength.
Sometimes it’s a big alliance chilling. So vastly stronger.
Sometimes it’s a smaller alliance pushing hard.
3168 vs 3234 (assuming the 3234 was this past war, and that you lost), is diff of 66.
Go check what you had for -/+ in this past war.
If you dropped 33 (and assume opponent similarly gained 33), then that means you would have been exact same WR when you were matched for this war that ended earlier today.
**it's probably not 33 exactly, but you get the idea, it would have been close to each other.
And for 2 wars ago, you were probably +33 and +33 lower now than you were for that war. And opponent (if 33 each time and won twice), would have been at (3356 - 66 = 3290) at the time of your war against them. While you might have been 3234.
**if actual changes were higher than 33, that would have made that difference even closer than what I just calc'd in last sentence,
