Battlegrounds Matchmaking

So as we all know battlegrounds can get quite unfair for certain players. As someone who returned to the contest on a new account, I really try my best to enjoy the gamemode but once I got to silver, I (as a 381k rating player) keep getting matched against ~3m rating players. I understand that people who played longer deserve more rewards, but if you make it so that defenders give passive debuffs (like incinerate, bleed, etc.) based on their already boosted attack rating there's basically no chance for me to have a decent chance in a predecided battle. For example, in some matchups I can dodge all the defender's attacks and specials, but will still die after dealing 15-20 hits. At this point it feels like I'm just a bot to be farmed by lazy and probably mediocre high rating players. There's no reason why matchmaking shouldn't be in power rating ranges (or atleast based on battledeck) or even if it's just based on account tiers (like arena used to be). Please make this gamemode more fun and enjoyable for everyone so that skillfull players actually get rewarded and not punished for not starting earlier.
FYI: If anyone wants to make this about how much money invested etc, I've already spent over $200 in my first 1.5 weeks, so I'm sure I actually deserve to enjoy the game as much as other players.

As for being stuck in silver, how high do you think you deserve to be with your 10 days account, relative to other players ?
This game is not a MOBA or CS, it's not just pure gameplay. There is a roster progression aspect to it. So you'll have to work on it if you want to reach higher in a competitive mode.
As for champs with immunities, I got viv vision, sentinel, sentry,... Putting in good work but these guys weren't part of my main roster so therefore aren't upgraded to a rank they should be for me to compete. I'm sure you know iso and gold come through the years, so I haven't had the chance to invest much in them.
All I want is my daily tasks done guys, don't hate
I wonder if there was a way to not die from hazard shift
We don’t have to debate whether roster matching is fair or not, because we’ve seen what happens when you do that. Lower roster players only match against each other, so many have a much easier time progressing than most players much stronger, and you end up with relatively strong players stuck while many relatively weak players zip past them into GC. For a competition, this is absurd. Kabam agrees.
The list of absurd things that happen when you match this way is much longer, but this is the deal breaker. Any system that punishes stronger players in a competition is unacceptable. And roster matching essentially hands wins to weaker players at the expense of stronger players. And in a game based on growing roster, any system that punishes players for growing roster is borderline insane.
You’re suggesting this now, but ask yourself how much you’re going to think it makes sense if BG is easy for you now, and every day that goes by and you pull a new champ or rank up a champ BG gets harder for you, as you match against stronger and stronger rosters. You might think no problem, they’ll always still be just as strong as you. But you’ll be wrong, as the *average* player with that roster strength will also be more knowledgeable, more skilled, and possibly have better meta champs than you even if their numbers are the same. You’ll only see the same difficulty if you keep pace with everything relative to everyone. If you were such a person, odds are you wouldn’t be complaining about it now.
Also, arena never matched by account tiers. Rather, for very new players there was a sort of beginners bracket for arena, which lasted for the first 90 days or something like that. After this initial period from when you first create your account, you’d be thrown into the same arena as everyone else.
Thanks for the insightful and more positive feedback from some of y'all. If you wanted to know I'm now on day 10 and got to cavalier, now fully exploring act 5 before I go to 6.2. Also rockin a 6* OG Hulk, 5* max awakened Void, 6* deadpool xforce (he's insane after rework), 6* Galan and more.
The only reason VT was created was to provide an easier on-ramp to the competitive mode. It is there because not everyone is ready to get thrown into the deep end of the Gladiator Circuit. It is there to prepare people for competitive play, not to be an alternative to competitive play.
If you just want something to farm, farm the arena. The developers explicitly intended Battlegrounds to not be another arena. I believe at one point during the closed beta, a developer literally said almost those words exactly. It will never be changed just to be easier to grind.
This is not a bug, this is a feature. And since the game mode is being played by a substantial percentage of the player population, I do not believe the devs are likely to think the mode has some critical breakage that makes it unpalatable to even lower progress players. Engagement with the mode probably significantly exceeds their expectations, and hasn't been decreasing over time. If anything, it is increasing over time.
