"Too op" this is just such bullcrap, why the goddam f do they have to Nerf everything, most bosses now have some form of damage reduction node or inbuilt protection in their kit, besides they're not usable in Everest content either, so the only place was either story or aw why tf do they have to do this
Bosses like Orochi who could be cheesed by a variety of champions with powerback boosts?
Champions like Prof X who get to sp3 and just win with sp3 spam?
I'm honestly surprised it took this long for a change to happen. Kabam has disliked powerback boosts for a really long time. My guess is Orochi was the final nail in the coffin for them.
They disliked champs with powerback boosts, but they kept building new ones either way. Interesting.
To be honest, this was inevitable. And I think it's just something we'll have to deal with. If the boosts work the same for everyone, the actual impact on War should even out.

Maybe I missed hearing that part of the stream, but I’d like to see what specifically made this a necessary fix. Limiting the purchase rate I feel should have been enough before to make things “fairer” as far as the pvp modes. If it really made the Orochi fight too easy, then why can’t those boosts just get moved to the war tab? Are they used that frequently outside of war? Any time I’ve tried them outside of war or seen them used outside of war, the boosts haven’t provided a significant enough benefit to be useful.

I made a little comment about Corvus; but I will get just a lil bit deeper on it. I do understand it stops other champs from cheesing fights like Prof X, Red Mags, all those massive heavy hitters, so I do understand the "need" for this change. Corvus situation is a bit different, did he benefit a lot from power back boost? Yes he did; but it was more of a need. Now I am at the mercy of getting 50% power back and limited to the ammount of hits or dance for a while until his charges are back up. Not to happy about this change after I spent so much to acquire and rank. I dunno about other players, at least for myself I always ranked various different star Corvus knowing that this boosts were available.

Just discovered who the newest shadow banned player here is. Good ole DeathmoreThanos aka Yokozuna is out another account. Many thanks to the community team!

What does "Kabam has disliked powerback boosts for a really long time"? Did they state this?
50% is too big of a nerf. Please consider making it 75%. I kinda agree that they're overpowered, getting more power back than you actually used (many times that beeing bad), but a 50% return is not enough

Hmm. That's a bit weird: I don't consciously remember reading this as I scrolled through; and yet it must have gone into my brain subconsciously; as I used almost exactly the same phrasing in my post, above.

If they dislike something they created thats not our fault is it, not our fault orochi was designed to be cheesed and not enough testing was done to figure it out on their own, thats like saying yo heimdal synergy needs to be nerfed cz it cheeses our newest boss even tho for the past 10 years we didnt care about it but sucks to suck we getting rid of it now
Can't really fault Kabam on this one. If everyone wants a game that can stand the test of time, they need to clean up things like abusing power backs in order for content to remain challenging. We see the debate play out on the forums all the time (Nuke vs non-Nuke metas, difficulty of content, etc.).
If you think about it, the players that want hard content and then use sp3 Prof X spam to clear it...it's not the challenging content that they wanted, it's the rewards that came along with it. Anyway, I'm just happy they communicated it before the change went live next week.

I only use power back just for serpent in war that is it as i love trying to take fights without boosts especially war but serpent is that one fight u boost with power back since of his abilities u need to keep him low
they haven't liked powerbacks for years so this was inevitable.
does this mean a design overhaul to war where powerbacks aren't as necessary? whether it's because of power gain or a damage threat, some fights we have to burst down ASAP or we die.
So after 10 years there like oh we messed up. These where too good and we are losing money and the game is too fun for the players. Why don't they just ban boost in war all together if its so unfair. make it an even playing field for everyone.

This is my exact point. If they're changing pbb, make the needed changes to war.
I’m of the opinion that power backs were a bit op and cheesy. But aside from AW, they were never op in a place that actually mattered, and the balance of AW was not destroyed by their existence, as it has been fine for 10 years. Tactics determine that more than anything.
They don’t work in bgs, and endgame content has too large of healthpools for them to be effective. Sure maybe for someone playing through act 6 for the first time they’re kinda broken, but you let them pay for 7* r2s so who even cares. If story bosses are a concern, then just design them differently, much like how you design content against herc.
After 10 years, was this really necessary? Holy bad decision Batman
during the second season of secutor/provocateur where the best counters were banned and the pool was generally limited, we had to rely on a non-tactic photon to clear mangog on 46 and we barely made with an invul, powerbacks, and a 33% greater defense boost.
with this change, is the war meta going to be balanced so matchups like these never happen?

I think this video demonstrates why Magneto Vs Orochi may have been the final nail in the coffin of these boosts...

@Pikolu clearly living rent-free in my head! 🤣

they already didn't have use in long form content but this change will make them almost redundant in story and war
what purpose will they serve then?
