@Cat_Murdock knows a lot about him
It's over and you done if you got moon knight, beast, rhino, iron patriot, groot, dormammu at the same time, and you got nothing else to choose.
Big regret
People just have Brainrot of only using the "top champs" (like 5 different champions) and never expanding on their narrow mindset.
Karnak does alot of lifting if you respect what he can do. Don't be so quick to dismiss or judge.
He will feel the best in match ups where you can punish the opponents specials or heavies with your own Heavy, because you want to stack those Fragilities without losing too many focus charges. Stack fragilities and get some Sp2 passive furies going.
He’s one of my favorite Encroaching Stun counters. If you have max Limber and the opponent doesn’t have extended stun duration, Karnak’s reduced debuff duration will prevent the Stun from ever triggering. This has come in handy many times.
If you have his synergy with Medusa and the Valkyrie relic, you can get to almost 100% ability accuracy reduction when hitting the opponents block. I used to use this a lot when Thing was a common placement on the Polka Dot Power/Stunning Reflection mini on the previous war map. Between that and Karnak’s instant bleeds, I never had to deal with Rock Stacks, and his sig would still let him gain power from hitting block.
If you are a user of the recoil masteries, he will heal the whole fight from Liquid Courage since he takes reduced damage from Poison.
He has very high Crit Rate, not as a base stat technically, but from his first focus charge, which you will basically have the whole time, especially when he’s duped. This crit increase works like an invisible Precision effect. There’s a node in Act 8+ that will make the opponent evade unless you have a precision effect active. With Karnak you can walk into the fight and never worry about this, since that invisible Precision counts for it.
Speaking of crits, he also crits through block, which is fun. Sometimes he catches comparisons to Valkyrie, but Valkyrie really wants to land her specials into Block, while Karnak is more of a dual fighter. Your best damage is still going to be from direct yellow numbers, but it keeps some damage going when they’re being defensive, and can also scale in fun ways with certain nodes.
If you want to see him being used practically in relevant difficult fights, I have an upload against Autumn of Agony Heimdall, and Winter of Woe Hulkling, both around 2 minute take downs.
Heimdall: https://youtu.be/ixbfaAL2lac?si=DoGDxaE0YocpmkwU
Hulkling: https://youtu.be/qDqzbs0AdU4?si=zV92Sj28FMVAZrz_
Anyway if he ends up not being for you, that’s fair we all have our playstyle preferences, but he has a lot more to offer than people give him credit for
