Kingpin as a 7* to Revive the Skill Class?

I'm sure im not the only one that feels he wouldn't be too broken as a 7*. Just like Sinister he suffers from self debuffing himself (despair/inequity etc).

Not to mention, we have champs like Mantis, Crossbones and BPCW that are far better attackers with far better debuff control (higher chance for xbones and cleanse/tranquilize for BP/Mantis).

He's also not even that hard of a defender, with a super easy sp1 to punish.

From what I've seen most people on the forums who were dissappinted with their rank 4 gem , had it from the skill class. And with Kate never coming as a 7*, Kingpin could at least give the Skill class what it needs to make a come back.

I've genuinely never understood the hype for Kingpin.
he got buffed 4 years ago i think? he was a great matchup for the tougher defenders back then like knull, terrax, thing, manthing, ibom. he was even meta relevant ~1.5-2 years ago against scorpion, spot, and one of the more popular photon counters at the time.

but now scorpion isn't available as a 7*, spot was tricky at one point but the community figured him out, and photon has much better counters.

he was a even good against korgs.

KP had great utility. 100% shrug chance with hood, each degen from the l1 reduced attack by 50% and def ability accuracy by 65% (130% at 2 stacks pre nerf, great against things). he could take annoying hazard shift nodes and overpower mode gave him tons of damage.

but he can be slow in BGs, inequity messes with him just like sinister, and he's not the defensive threat he once was with all the new mutants and mutant reworks.

I know he got buffed, I've played him before and after the buff and while I think he's great I've never found a reason to use him. Unless you're in a high debuff match or get lucky with his unstoppable it's hard to get his damage really popping off in my experience. I'm not saying he's bad, he's probably a lot better than I've found him, I just have never understood how to get much out of him that I can't get with moleman or even jabari panther

A kingpin 7* release in April with the daredevil show finishing up would be 🔥. I don’t see them releasing him as a 7*, but skill class needs something this year.

Anybody who punishes purify, which are a lot of mutants, it’s not good. Void is not a good matchup for him. Any node with cold turkey is a no go. Some other matchups would be tough for him, such as mojo. Would have to play very carefully to not get degened to death.

Both. Kingpins debuffs count as debuffs for void and he takes damage. It’s not bad in a duel, but in BG or war it’s rough.

Mojo is rough if the fight is long. When mojo gets his fart field, you can’t heavy, get overpower, or attack after dexing without taking degen damage.

The issue with the Skill class isn’t the champs, but their targets. The only relevant Science Defenders are Photon and Jess Jones; Skill attackers that aren’t Kingpin can’t shine if they have no targets to shine against.

I feel like the 'fixed' his stacking AAR on SP1 after years in order to prepare for his release as a 7*? I am hoping they do, one of my favorite champs.

Sinister and Kingpin doesn't suffer from despair mastery. If you read their abilities you will see their regen can't be reduced below 0 except for kingpin that only poison will be able to reduce his regen rate.
