They’re too broken to be put into the game until they get “buffed” (nerf with some benefits).

That's fair, but in my experience quake can barely, if at all, take on r2 and r3 7* Champs in something like AW within the tike limit, nevermind a r4

What does this have to do with 6* Magik and Quake?

Those Champs as 6*s wouldn't even come close to the same level of annoyance as an awakened r3 or r4 7* Nick Fury, the difference between them is massive imo

Since most decks are full of r3s at this point and r4s already started to roll out, yes I think it's time.

However, I would very much rather they got nerfed down to top 5 in their class based on the details Miike gave us a while ago before he left... Yes I know it's not happening but I like to imagine what that could've been like 🙃 really don't get why people are so against this idea when nowadays you don't even need to use them anymore cause both Act 5 and Act 6 have been effectively nerfed to the ground when compared to what they used to be.

Yeah its also just a spend event so be cool for them since only a few will get them also not like they be added quickly as they can always exclude entering

I’m genuinely baffled that so many people on that poll were saying no to them getting nerfed and released as 6* or even 7*. Like we get really good champs still and we actually get to play them? Such a massive win for us. Why vote to keep them as 5* and the same when the game will move far past them and they’ll be irrelevant

Exactly, and Miike very clearly said, their playstyles would remain the same, they would just take them from op broken mess down to top 3 in their class... but no a lot of people kept saying "NoStALgiA ReEEeE" as if not being able to use them at all was any better. I've been playing since December 2015 and there's nothing I'd want more than being able to use both again.
There is however a small positive thing about that last poll (which I just realized was mine lol) we actually won:

I remember when this same poll was made a year before mine, they won by a landslide. Maybe in a couple more years it will be possible, people move on eventually.

What about the people who are currently using those champs at their available rarities now? What happens to them?

People keep talking about the game like the game follows them; the only relevant things that exist in the game are the things relevant to them. These things are relevant, these other things are obsolete. But players still do Act 2, they still do Cavalier difficulty, they still do Realm of Legends. They still rank up 6* champs, and 5* champs, and 4* champs, and even 3* champs.

At the very top of the game, there's only so many champs that get released into crystals every month, every quarter, every year. If Kabam decided to release Quake and Magik as 7* champs, that would mean two other champs wouldn't get released into the 7* pools; they would have to displace other champs. No one actually has 7* versions of those champs, so no one is being prevented from using them. Conversely, not releasing them isn't preventing players from getting more champs added to the 7* pool; we don't have fewer 7s because of that. So holding them back is only causing the people who want to them to not be able to get them, but the same would be true of the champions that get displaced. Lots of players waiting for two other champs would no longer see them arrive in the 7* pool, or be delayed substantially. Nothing is being "wasted" by those champs not being released into the higher rarity crystals.

Nerfing Quake and Magik to alter them sufficiently to release into the 7* pool takes those champs away from the players playing them at lower ranks (as they currently exist) to allow players who don't have them to have the opportunity to acquire them at higher rarities. You're trading one set of players for another. I don't see why Kabam should prefer one group's interests over the other in this instance.

Regardless of the result, it was 235 votes lol, that's hardly a deciding result.
Also probably 60% of the voters are f2p and would be pissed off if they are behind a paywall later 🤣

I think it will happen eventually, just gotta keep waiting until there are so many good champs even beginners stop caring about these two, it's not like they need broken champs these days anyways we have so many options to counter so many things. Game was very different back when they were released, having cheat codes like those two was kind of a must or you were forced to burn through your stash, revive after revive to do story content which is nowhere near as complicated as it used to be.

Better than nothing regardless, you're not wrong about the complaints tho.

If Kabam wants me to buy the sigil again ..
7* Sigil Magik will keep me on hook for a while... Just saying 😉😉
  • Emilia90Emilia90 Member Posts: 3,779 ★★★★★

You're gonna tell me those players can't get through that content with other champs these days? Come on, it's not 2016 anymore, when we used them back then it's because the content was ridiculously hard. Not only did we not have enough champs that could deal with the hardest fights without having to use a ton of revives, we were also basically forced to use 4*. The game has evolved, there's no need for broken champs like those anymore.

Also, you're acting like the game hasn't always been like this, there's a always a group of players bound to get screwed over by a specific change whether you like it or not. Why is it so wrong for us to want them to change them, we're already the ones getting screwed over because we can't use them and it's been like this for years. It's entirely up to them whether they want to listen or not but implying we're being selfish for wanting them to get changed is just unfair lol the same could be said about the people who don't want them to be changed.
And Kabam themselves are the ones who said they would’ve considered changing and rereleasing the champs so this isn’t even about them choosing one group over another lol. Most people voting on those polls were endgame players anyway and it was players here discussing it not Kabam themselves saying they wouldn’t do it

Not sure kabam could figure out how to work around all the nodes and scenarios for a 6 or 7* magik.

Still remember when she was one of the worst champs to get.

Now I do honestly think she would break the game.

I have a better idea. Keep 5* and below quale and magik as it is, and release nerfed 6* version. They already have the tech for it. Look how 1*s still have older kits

I still use 5* quake and she made all of the threats challange this month an absolute joke. Making her as a 6* would just be a cheat code.

The whole 1* colossus wasn't buffed because *new players* still angers me. (Only when I think about it, which I haven't for years(?) untill you just bought it up)
