The boycott was a joke
The boycott ended like 30 minutes after it began when Kabam reversed the BG scoring changes. Just a weird post.
Guess people here missed the point, there was literally no boycott.
Kabam saw it and made changes to make sure the next big sale would please everyone. Witch it did.
But spending wise they knew big sale for spring cleaning was coming so they had to make changes.
So they can make money off here then July 4.

So if Kabam didn't make any changes, it would of been because they are a bad company with bad intent towards players.
But since they DID make changes, they are a bad company with bad intentions towards players?
I also think you have overvalued the "power" of the recent boycott threat. Having been around the forums for a while (both this one and the forum that came before it), that boycott threat had so little support behind it when compared to previous ones. Hell, the 12.0 one actually had top alliances in the game putting out joint statements about participating. I have no doubt that Kabam saw people were pissed and made changes...just don't think the boycott was the scary monster you are trying to make it into.

Anyone who thinks the "boycott" drove these changes is delusional. CCP members have a direct line to provide their thoughts to the game team. Work on the BG updates probably started months ago. PR is is PR. In a slow period for the game, these vids spark conversations.
As with most things, the majority of the player base didn't see the video, don't care about a boycott, and have zero interest in visiting the forums to read these messages. MCOC is big and if we've seen anything, what we think is the majority of the community can't be further from the truth.
Kinda sad and wild to me that the comments on the video are still mad at Kabam. Even when they do a lot of good it’s always “Kabam is bad and the game is a joke” rinse and repeat for every year of the games lifecycle
I could save up and get a T7B every four and a half seasons, which is not bad, or 2k 7* AG shards per season, or a Titan about every three seasons. These are much better rewards than currently exist for nominal effort. Pushing for about 8500th place, what used to be the top of Uru 3, would now place Gamma 2 and net 56250 Radiance, about double the amount. 9500 players will get this or better, which is probably something like top 2-3% of players, and perhaps more relevant its about a third of all players that ordinarily reach GC in the first place.
Even for players at the bottom of the competitive scale that just barely limp into GC they will get 12500 Radiance, which is like a 7* crystal every other season. That's still much better than now, and for such players that is probably not an insignificant reward either.
The Radiance system has been in development for a very long time, long before the boycott talk was a thing, so it wasn't a reaction to it, although it might have alleviated some players' concerns about the future of Battlegrounds.
