1. Dark Pheonix - You are putting an untested champion as the final 'powerful" champion, which is questionable, but could be fine. What's definitely not fine is that you've removed the cosmic champion from the crystal in order for her to be final milestone. Having less new champs in this crystal means its overall value is significantly lower than the omega days crystal. Not only that, but a year later the 7 star basic pool has much less value for most people than it did prior. Also, locking a "potent defender" behind 36k units doesn't sit well for obvious reasons. That's all very shady if you're keeping the price the same as last year, and will compound problem 2.
2. RNG insanity - I and many others were under the impression that the box gotcha system was aimed at doing away with the pain points involved in spending 36k units on RNG crystals, but you decided to take the less fair option. Everyone is going to love their 5 Apocalypse dupes, just like they loved their Sandman dupes. With only 5 heroes in the crystal, bad luck will be far more punishing and good luck will be less beneficial.
3. Magik Nerf - You say you're putting Magik in the game, then you bait and switch by announcing it's a nerfed version that will be added next year?
4. Twitch drops Bugged Again
5. War "Thing" - A lot of players consider war the only game mode that doesn't need a major change, and would rather you focus in other areas of the game. After raids being so unpopular people are apprehensive about a war change.
I'm trying to stay positive and open minded, but this being the livestream that follows a soft boycott might indicate what level of trust we should have in the game team.
Most people thought it be a box but there always said it be similar to omega days so that’s was just a cystal.
These 5 champions are to good for a gacha box
Doesnt mean it should be 36k units. Thats an absurd cost, and that amount of units in july 4 or cyber gets you a truckload more than an RNG shot at champs that could be several ibom or apoc dupes. It shouldve just been boxes
It is an event just like last yrs event honestly we are lucky its not more than the 36k units since most of these events get more expensive yr to yr
People have every right to be upset, in my opinion. The cosmic champion is locked behind a 36k unit wall.
Just be glad its not more than that most events that appear yr after yr go up in price whether cash or units spent this is an event just like last yrs omega days event that was the sane exact pricing
With only 5 heroes in the crystal, bad luck will be far more punishing and good luck will be less beneficial.
I'm just going to point to this one comment as representative of my general feelings here.
Fewer champs in the crystal means bad luck gets worse and good luck also gets worse.
Why are some people angry at the stream? The fact that people are willing to assert stuff like this with confidence is a huge part of the reason why.
Ppl dont know maths and that word was diliberate 20% is better than 16.67% thats just math
This is objectively false. DNA 3000's whole 'mathier than though' attitude really falls flat when he proves he can't solve a basic word problem. Taking a logic class a long side of your math courses works wonders. For example, it can help DNA avoid making a strawman argument, and it can help you not make abductive reasoning errors. You guys making all these logical fallacies, while asserting you're good at math is pretty hilarious, but you're embarrassing yourselves... so let's get the thread back to material arguments please. Thank you.
Genuine question as I didn’t watch the stream today. Did they actually say the milestone cost is going to be the same as Omega Days? Or are you all just making that assumption?
Crashed said verbatim during the livestream that it would be the same unit cost
Perfect, thanks! Guess I’ll be waiting until the next time DP comes around, far too pricey, especially only a week after the previous spending event

Not trying to be sarcastic, but how is DNA wrong? If there are less champs in the crystal, it means each champ has a 20% of being pulled, instead of 16ish percent if there were 6 champs in there? I’m in the health sciences, and math is not my strong suit, so asking a genuine question 😅
They announced valiant EQ, updates to SQ are being worked on, new champs look great, buffs are on the way, radiance is great and has amazing rewards, Magik was too strong to be released as a 7* so they’ve compromised and promised to make her great but not busted, the AW thing is just a test, and the heart of fire has some great champs
I’m also convinced no one has touched another gacha game or played any game outside mcoc. Unit grinds are easier than ever right now and 36k isn’t an unfair price. Most F2P players can grind this out pretty fast. Kabam making it unit based is huge and there is a selector to get your favorite
What’s the issue here? I’m genuinely so confused how a community can be so incredibly negative about literally anything kabam does. They do something great? Nah it’s still bad and Kabam bad and the game team is bad. I’ve always called Kabam out when they do silly things and I have numerous posts that critique the state of the game but even when they turn it around and are open people are still mad
That’s all I gotta say, y’all are so annoying and then have the nerve to act condescending about it as well
I don't agree abt getting 36k units is easy for ftp players Literally if u play even every arena in a month and every lower Monthly Eq the maximum units u can get is 8k-7k
To grind 36k units a ftp player atleast need 4-5 month of grind continously without missing any arena
Saying that getting 36k is easy for ftp players doesn't make any sense
Event like this are made for whales & spenders not for Ftp
Don't forget 900 units a month from the daily event, and a nice amount from the gold track. But yes, I agree, saying 36k units is easy for ftp players to grind is either dumb or a troll comment. It is possible, yes, but by no means easy.
Even if u include all those units the maximum output of units per month still remain at around 8-9k
I have included all units a player can get including arena crystals rng too
36k units require atleast 4-5 month of grind even if u have good rng
In old days Kabam most deals Like j4/cyberweek and unit event like banquet require players to spend 18-21k maximum units From those amt of units a player could get literally every deal of event or achieve every milestone of banquet
But last 2 years Kabam became more money hungry by depreciating unit value in every deals and unit oriented events upto 36k and more
Well this is nothing new and this stream has also followed similar trends of last few streams of money hungry events and exclusive champs that require to spend u money If u want to competitive in higher Bg and wars
This especially leaves a bad taste in your mouth considering Radiance was just announced/implemented as a late-game ressource that allows you to buy end-game stuff, and 2/3 sources are PVP content with BG and AW. In my opinion, these Trophy Champs should be banned from those modes entirely [Or be bad enough that they are just cool to have like Kang or Thanos used to be]
I can live with my BG opponent having more R3s and R4s than me if they are from the pool that is available to everyone, I can still use my skill to beat that. But when they have champs that require you to spend 1.200 Dollars worth of units like Dark Phoenix, it isn't really a matter about skill anymore.
Even BeroMan spent like $800 during the Red Guardian sale, so the pressure is real. If one of the handful of top BG players feels the need to whale out to stay competitive, what are lesser skilled and less roster-heavy players supposed to do? It's a real concern I think.
Because he’s the number 1 player. I’ve spent like 50 bucks my entire time playing mcoc and my f2p roster has gotten me super far in BGs and I’ve beaten accounts twice my size
Skill matters as well, unless you want to aim to stay in the top 5 in the game it doesn’t matter

Calling it easy was an exaggeration I agree, but it’s easier than ever to grind units F2P rn and you can absolutely save 36k in a few months or so with arena grinding and stuff
My point about the community being awful stands either way.

This makes perfect sense. Does he need to type it slower for you so that you understand? Explain what you're missing and I'll explain it too you like you're 5. He's stating that generally speaking the average floor and the average ceiling are both worse with less limited champions in the crystal.
I feel like the champs in this crystal are significantly better than the champs last year in Omega Days. Does it suck that even whaling out you could end up not getting all the champs because of RNG? Absolutely. I still don't have Omega Sentinel from last year's event and am a little salty about it. Having said that though, there will be people who buy two or three crystals and end up with a seven star that they normally would not get. I'm generally happy that they've moved to the loot box system for all other events but I don't hate that they have one big champ focused gacha event.
The other point is people are complaining that Dark Phoenix is removing the Cosmic champ from the pool. I view it a different way. Dark Phoenix would normally be one of the two new featured champs in a non-event month. Instead, this month we have Galan in the regular pool. I could have easily seen him in this limited crystal pool and being locked as a champ only a lucky few have the ability to get vs being a normal release as he is now. I don't particularly mind Kabam doing this.
Overall I think this stream had a ton of good stuff. I feel like the community has been overtly critical the last few months and Kabam has done a pretty good job listening and making changes. I get why people are mad, but I think the game is heading in a generally more positive direction right now than how I felt after this past year's gifting.
I just hope new Magik actually have insane damage and powersteals to spam specials and actually counters the 2025 Cosmic attackers instead of countering 2018 ones.
Really hope they don't give her scuffed Dark Phoneix treatment, Man they did the dark version dirty with not even new animations 😭

It is an unfortunate and unavoidable consequence of calling out other people's BS that I will subsequently get called out by people who either buy that BS or can't distinguish BS from anything else. So I have come to accept the fact that my mathier than though attitude will fall flat with some segment of the forum readers. It is just not one I especially need to care about.
You're always going to look like a genius to some and an idiot to others. The important thing is to make sure you look smart to smart people and dumb to dumb people rather than the reverse. And when I look at how I chose to draw that dividing line, and who's on which side, I'm happy with my choice.
I thought the stream was really good. The Groot troll was hilarious and well done.
My one criticism is not having a cosmic in the 7* pool. Was saving a cosmic AG for this but it’s pointless now. Looking forward to getting Dark Phoenix for sure, but imo she should have been a milestone trophy champ and the crystal should have had six champs.
I understand maths though. Higher chance of getting NF is fine by me. Plus with the selector there it’s guaranteed. But not everyone will whale out and I appreciate their concern.
Elder difficulty sounds great. More solo content makes me happy.
I don’t want to play AQ or AW anymore, spent 5+ years at the top for that and the stress is too high. Wish radiance wasn’t there but for every one of me 100 will disagree so I accept that. Adding it seems a good move based on others’ sentiment so I’m happy.
Magik could never be released even as a 6* without a change, but she absolutely should be playable in the game. Rework is a good thing.
I don't think this livestream deserved the heat its been getting, but then again you can never really satisfy everyone. We got updates for EQ, plans for radiance, some experimenting with AW, a teaser for a new game mode and even relics. Heart of fire and Dark phoenix monetization aside, these are huge announcements which will benefit everyone.
Ironically, phoenix not being in the crystal works out better for me as i get 40% chance of pulling fury or fantman instead of 33% just like Emilia said. And if the final milestone still costs 37k units then it's just flat out better value at that level than last year, getting not only a selector but a second champ in dark phoenix as well. Offcourse, i get it that for people who only want d. phoenix and don't have that many units and only wanted to gamble off of the first 7* crystal, this change sucks. But even if d. phoenix was in the crystal, there would be no guarantee getting her.
If you're feeling bad by missing out on d. phoenix or any other champ in the selector, then don't. No champ, not even d. phoenix, is mandatory to play this game. If you have the disposable income and wanna splurge then great but don't feel pressured by FOMO. If you can't get anything good for your units here, just hold them for july 4th or cyber or banquet. The best way i've found to enjoy this game as ftp is just grinding arena at your own pace and spending whenever you like the value of an event and have enough units. Other times, you have to skip events cuz of lack of units and that's okay. Sweating over trying to max every unit sale is just making the game miserable for yourself.
Why people are actually angry at the livestream: 1. People love to complain and will complain about anything 2. It is surprising how people enjoy being miserable, it is one of the quirks about humans I find fascinating 3. Idk, I'm just making this list for fun 4. Lack of Dino Nuggies in their diet 5. Groot isn't being added to the HoF event.
Tbh id rather have Groot then they would buff him and its cheap to make people think oh its gonna be something crazy like CGR or Hulkling since its gonna be on the livestream then you give us another JJ that everyone is "hyped" for but the she dies out before the event even ends kinda stupid and misleading aka usual Kabam.
We literally got 2 model and kit overhauls this month, one of which having completely new animations. Dark Phoenix having dupe animations isn't that big a deal when the animations are already great
