Heart of fire shouldve been more ftp geared

All our chats are filled with people angry at this "cash grab". Now i am a player that spends fairly regularly, not a whale by any means. But i feel these events in between christmas and 4th of july should geared to ftp. It is plain to see kabam was trying to reach both ftp and spenders, but they failed and it has people angry. Why are kabam chargeing people banquet prices for all these garbage crystals? Is the big question.

Would you like to watch a 30 second ad every other fight instead?
"They get a lot of money so they should give stuff for free.." rofl. Who are you to decide that?
I love when entitled people start avoiding the facts and start saying random stuff like you just because you don't wanna be wrong.
By the way if you try to reach spenders and f2p EQUALLY, who in their right minds would spend?
And this is all over "not even getting a 6* Dark Phoenix"...
The strugges of FTP players, for not having a trophy champ? 🤣
Valiant EQ also gave 150 units.
People pretty much had since CM to farm units up to this event.
They eliminated LNY, which were RNG units and added other events that had guaranteed units in the last couple of months
When a person says they participated on the event in 3 accounts and complains, its the persons problem for focusing on 3 accounts instead of 1.
The game has to make money on more than just two weeks of sales. There are spending events between J4 and CW, not just this one. The concessions to free players in this event are, in my opinion, pretty good, but that is subjective. What isn't subjective is that HoF is a spending event designed to drive spending, and absent knowledge of the economies involved, which you clearly are not aware of (since all you're aware of is the game makes something between 100M and 1B dollars a year) you don't really have any strong grounds to be claiming they make too much money.
Kabam itself actually makes no money. Kabam is a wholly owned studio of Netmarble who makes all the money. And they paid something like $800M to buy the studio and its assets. They are going to want to make their money back and then some, so they keep the revenue and budget salary and expenses to the studio. Neither you nor I actually know what the minimum revenue the studio needs to survive, but I can make educated guesses. Back in the day MMOs that supported themselves with subscription revenue typically charged between $12 and $20 per player per month, and no one was getting rich on that revenue. That would equate to between $150M and $250M USD per year. The estimated net revenue of the game has been floating around $180M-$220M per year, which is well inside that range. And presumably Marvel/Disney take a big chunk of that revenue.
~$200M has to pay Disney their cut, it has to provide return on investment to Netmarble, it has to pay operational costs to host the game, it has to pay for the costs to develop and manage the game (employee salaries, dev tools, etc). It sounds like a lot of money. It isn't.
Funny thing is i watch the streams and get exactly what i want from each event..i didnt even start this for myself ..i did it for everyone else thats complaining in all the chats i mod in.
It is what it is fools will keep paying thousands instead of simply enjoying the game..which btw i love and and am very happy with it..later trolls
Those who have 0 units and are not willing to spend will get:
34 Cav HoF Crystals
14 Paragon HoF Crystals
4 Valiant HoF Crystals
+1,200 Units
All of those for free.
Those who spend 5,700 Units can get a guaranteed 7* Rare HoF champ which is way less than Kabam's asking price for a champ.
I didn't spend but I grinded 5,700 Units for 3 weeks anticipating this event. I got my 2nd best choice and didn't get my 1st best choice and I didn't get any 7* from the other crystals, but that's okay. My fiance got my 1st and 2nd best choice without even spending, and I'm really happy for her. I've been playing this game for years and I know it's a gacha game. The chance adds a layer of excitement as long as you know how to level your expectations. The event is relatively free, if you want Dark Phoenix, that's a different conversation. The event as a whole is fun. Are you a Marvel veteran? Fought Magneto during the Cold War? This isn't America and Kabam is in Canada.
I would need to open 30 more crystals (30*2=60 points that I need to get HoF 7* at 100 points). I'd get four more crystals as I climb up to 100 points, so I'd be buying 26 crystals. 26 *300 units is 7800 units. What am I missing?
