Help in Battlegrounds

I just reached Uru and for past 2 hours I lost every match i.e. 21 matchups in a row. I am returning player and at Paragon level at present. Don’t know how to proceed. Matchups are very tough and usually all of them were Valiant with stacked battle deck.

New nodes in GC. Check you deck and adjust to the new nodes.

Not sure there is much to help with. Every valiant with any sort of roster made it to GC. Maybe you will hit some lower rosters out over the weekend to get you up a couple of levels in Uru, but there are still stacked rosters compared to yours in the upper levels of Uru.

Some are quite large, as not every valiant is going to grind out GC. I play 3 matches every other day. The radiance differences just don’t matter that much if I tried to max out my potential (which has a definitive ceiling) and I don’t like battlegrounds THAT much. You just have to learn to accept your limits in that mode.

There is no reason not to be valiant if you want to be competitive in battlegrounds

You need to increase your spending

Definetly is a roster issue paragons shouldn’t even really be in the gladiators circuit. You did well for that achievement

I’m an average P4 player with a solid roster (3x 7* R4, 24x 7* R3), spending around $20/month (Lumatrix, Cyclops without dupe, I don't have 7* Dark Phoenix...). I’m stuck around 130 points (my max was about 180, but rather than oscillating around 130 for two hours, it's better to just play arenas). Because of that, GC isn’t appealing to me. Going forward, I’ll play for 2 weeks, get 100 points, and be done with it.

I know — it's a skill issue, a roster issue, and a little spender issue. But I believe that 95% of players are probably in the same situation as I am.

Sometimes it helps to just quit and come back a few hours later or even a few days later. Every season without fail I have a few sessions where I can’t win anything and fall down the ranks, but then came back all of the points I lost and then some in the very next session

kind of? VT participation helped me get TO the Valiant badge 100%, and also you may have actually hit the high end for your account at this moment @ubergamer11. don’t sweat GC until you flesh out your roster or possibly push your progression forward. you said you just returned after a hiatus (and welcome back), so a little patience and a little perseverance are gonna be the best tools for you to catch up.

Well, first of all to get to 130 with a week to go you’re among the top, say 20,000 players in BG which means you’re already among the top 5% of all BG players. So no, 95% of players are not in the same situation as you. 95% of them failed to get as far as you in the first place.

At some point, everyone stalls out, because eventually everyone reaches the level of their skills, and since BG is a competition and you’re playing against other players, eventually you rise to the point you’re equal with everyone else. If competing against people that are just as strong as you are to try to get better is unappealing, then competition is probably not for you.

That’s the difference between PvE and PvP. In PvE, everyone can theoretically win most of the time. In PvP, essentially no one can.

How you are losing probably matters here. If you’re losing 50k to 42k or 47k to 39k, then it’s probably that their roster is just a bit stronger and their skills are a bit better and you just need to get better. But if you’re losing 51k to 12k, that’s not just that they are stronger than you, it’s that you aren’t doing something right. Maybe you haven’t built a good deck for the meta, maybe you’re unaware of the current tactics, maybe you keep reparrying into a stun that gets reflected back into your attacker and then their Enchantress combos you before you can reset her spells and she specials you to death, like just for example not that that’s happened to me of course ha ha.

Roster matters, and if you’re a lower Paragon facing off against all the Valiant monsters that’s going to be tough, but you got into GC in the first place and the competition from V2 to Uru 6 isn’t a gigantic leap, or at least shouldn’t be. And by the way, if you did 21 matches in two hours that sounds like you’re forfeiting at least a few of them. I wouldn’t recommend that. Play the match. Just because your opponent has a giant roster, doesn’t mean he knows how to drive it. You can run into a less skilled player, and you can get lucky in the draft. In fact, consider this: if you’re running into them with zero rating, ask yourself why they have zero rating with such huge rosters? You aren’t going to get better unless you actually fight the fight, and meanwhile if those guys have zero rating in Uru 6 with those big rosters, eventually you’ll be able to take at least some of them.

Wanted to +1 this. My most embarrassing moment in BGs a few seasons ago was when I lost to a paragon because my only defenders I drafted, they got hard counters for, and I got 0 counters to their defenders. Didn't matter that they were 6r4a and 6r5a against my 7r3s, I was too slow and couldn't get the win. Never underestimate the power of draft rng.

Lets be honest here, roster matters in BG almost just as much as skill.
That being said, I do agree that you reach a ceiling after which you can't progress but this point of yours makes it seem like skill is ALL that matters and sounds a little condescending to be honest.
