Most of the people on this thread are going to be the tiny segment of old War aficionados who are predictably going to be salty about their format being hijacked. Not saying their voice doesn't matter (although it kinda doesn't), but this is not going to be a representative sample and certainly not something Kabam is going to care about in their decisionmaking. They will use their own real data that covers all the players, not just the small sample of extra salty ones who make a lot of noise on the forums.
What kabam should do for saving AW is updating loyalty crystal with a new pool instead of some raid like AW mode. I think both modes can stay simultaneously, each taking half of the season (4+4 or 5+5 wars of each type per season)
Personally, i hate this new format. I have totally lost interest in AW. I tried it and i couldn't even take down one defender with two attackers. Some people in my alliance have voiced out that they are not doing AW this coming season. And i bet to say that alliances are going to record an unprecedent deaths in AW this coming season. People will get stuck on just one defender and will not be able to continue. This new format will only benefit those we call the free loaders. Already they were having it difficult with the old format, and kabam has brought this new format. They will not even attempt to fight one defender.
I like new one, but I don't want see multiple onslaught and bullseye.
That's exactly what we are going to see. Bullseye, Onslaught, Enchantress, Serpent, etc. And you can imagine the deaths that alliances are going to record.
Well, if you just like easy access to rewards, Kabam may just add lottery system to the game, you login and get a lottery, not a single fight and call it a day.
this new format favours those we call the free loaders. Just log in, not a single fight and you are out.
I actually somewhat like the new changes in war but the only take one path/fight is stupid cause some people love or live to fight more than one champion. So can someone please change that part, it’ll be great
The old Alliance War (AW) system didn’t have any real issues ,the core problem lies with Kabam’s direction. Rewards haven’t improved, so how are players supposed to stay motivated? Potions and boosts are still overpriced. If these items aren’t generating revenue, reduce their prices ,more players would likely buy them, enjoy the game more, and stay engaged. Consider running promotions to boost participation.
The new AW format brings no excitement and lacks meaningful team coordination, especially at higher tiers where strategy, defender placement, and teamwork matter most. It feels like this format was designed for casual players who expect rewards from just one fight. But for those of us who enjoy AW for its team-based challenges and dynamic gameplay, this new version completely kills the fun.
If anything, this new AW should be tested at lower tiers ,not forced onto competitive alliances. Keep the original format for higher-tier wars, where real strategy is valued. And frankly, whoever came up with this new AW concept clearly doesn’t understand what made AW enjoyable in the first place ,it's time for Kabam to seriously reevaluate that decision. Improve your rewards, lower the cost of boosts and potions, and listen to the player base before pushing unwanted changes.
The old war is the ONLY content requires teamwork in this game, now you can play this game with zero communication with other players in the alliance.
Kabam created all kinds of boosts, SAGA, tactics, many war-only attackers (Corvus, Prof-X, ...), now they pushed a new format which blows away all those things
I’m sure this thread has mentioned the difference in Tiers that either have the “Everything, Everywhere, Portals at Once”, versus “forward only to final node”.
Similar (but opposite) to the many comments by others asking here and in other threads, when they moved up from Tier 6 to 5, they switched from the everything portals, to the once-only portal.
So when you move down from Challenger Tier 5 to Hard Tier 6, you gain the ability to portal all over the place.

I don't love it, I think we should have 2-3 defenders per person with smaller hps but I do prefer this over old AW. My alliance has a 300k BGs minimum + Map 8 AQ all three BGs every week so doing AW seriously as well feels more like a chore to us than anything, especially with all the endgame content that was dropping recently. Even with the radiance being added it's just way too much work, the path assignments and all the fight each person has to take, we hate it so we'd very much rather this.
This new alliance war should be its own game mode. I prefer the old war but the changes id make is to drop the defender from 5 to 2/3 per person. Id also change that instead of 9 paths they make it so it 5/6 so if a person or two in your alliance in unavailable you can still get a 100%.
Why would anyone enjoy fighting 10 million health pool 7* rank 4 Serpent, Enchantress, Bullseye, Onslaught?
Cause I only have to fight one of them and then I'm done instead of having to fight all four with smaller health pools cause somebody decided to put all of them in the paths I got assigned.

It was a good attempt to harm AW in order to increase the number of players in BG.
All I needed after playing Alliance War for seven years was for it to become a completely different mode where I do a fight every 2 days.
There will certainly be a portion of people who like it, a portion who didn't play Alliance War because they didn't have the skills to do it, now they will only have to do one fight and try not to die ten times.
From what I've seen so far, it's worse. The map is confusing, because it's so small, and the defenders rankings are unnecessarily bloated. I prefer the old maps much more. I wish #kabam would stop messing with stuff to make the game "better" and let us actually enjoy it again... two thumbs down. 👎👎
My alliance is in tier 6 and I did 9 fights. I think tier 5 and above will only allow you to do one fight per war. From what I gather tier 6 or higher will allow you to do as many fights as you want as long as you navigate the portals correctly.
I like both for different reasons. It might be fun if they swapped maps every now and then.
There's little to no champ diversity in the wars I've played so far. So far is that so many alliances we've been matched up against in the new war are putting Serpent or Enchantress on almost every node. It's like a contest to see who can have the most of those 2 champs, with the odd Bullseye thrown in. It might be interesting in the new map style to put a limit on how many times a champ can be placed on defense.
It seems like people are saying AW is easy now. I have fought a few battles that went smooth but lately it’s been impossible. The defenders are over 300k in health and nothing I do seems to affect them. I think the nodes are confusing as well. It’s like they are not written in English. It just sounds like every 10 seconds the defender heals or becomes unblockable. Or every attack you do, penalizes you in some way.
Also, since the new war format has so little defenders, every alliance just uses Enchantress, Serpent and Bullseye. Needless to say we have been loosing every war. Is the secret just to use certain characters? Because I can only fight wars with my top characters. If Onslaught is the only character with a good counter, I can’t bring my 4 star into war.

Why didn't they do that with Alliance Quest?
