Best uses for a 7* cosmic AG?

Before you say Serpent, mines already duped and sigged up.

I know the cosmic AG is probably the best one right now but I was kinda sad cause it’s not the one I’m looking for and whoever gets it will have to compete with Serpent for sigs.

My unduped cosmics which are either ranked up or I would rank up right now are:

- Beta Ray Bill (R3)
- Scream (R3)
- Pheonix (R2)
- Medusa (R1, can go up)
- CMM (R1, can go up)

Personally I would like to play CMM but I’m unsure as to how viable she is for BGs. I’m not one of those BGs is the be all and end all type players but I don’t want to rank up a champion who I can’t use at all in the mode.

Beta Ray Bill I’ve already written off, his sig only really has big benefits at sig 200, 9% better shock damage really doesn’t change anything about him for me.

Scream i don’t play enough. I took her to R3 impulsively after 9.2 and haven’t really taken to her too well. Does her Sig give her a huge difference? She’s kinda complicated to wrap your head around and I’m sure me not getting her is just a me problem but will an Sig 1 scream be much better.

Pheonix is probably the biggest contender for me right now tbh, her sig looks really big even at Sig 1. Would CMM/Medusa take it over her for you guys? Let me know

Medusa is easily the best, and here's how you should think

Just eliminate brb and scream, since they are available in regular/titan crystals. You can always wait. Neither they need their Awakening desperately.

Cmm is good, but definitely not the best for bgs. She is designed for questing. She has. Avery long ramp outside her target matches (energy dmg nonmystics), involving blocking a lot which is not good for bgs. She can work against some of the best bg defenders though, like onslaught, and possibly against Dp and new cap britain. But she's still not the best for bgs.

Pheonix and medusa are close contestants, but pheonix dupe is actually not that needed for bgs. You ain't gonna rely on immortality buff in bgs, neither you need the regen, both are meant for questing. The auto block counter is good, useful against some tech, but you can live without it.

But medusa on the other hand, goes from a nuke to a full fledged dual threat at sig 1. Counters both evade and autoblock, has better Armor control, and is a very terrifying defender. There aren't many counters to medusa in bgs, and even if opponent draft one, you can use her in attack. No other champs in the list is dual threat, and medusa is arguably the most simple champ to use and have easier access to high damage, among this list. So if you plan on ranking up purely for bgs go with medusa. Or if you love cmm, you can awaken her.

Medusa.

Goes from an awesome nuke to an awesome nuke who can now take a few more matchups and gains defensive value along with a safety net on attack.

The amount of times a bgs match has gone to round 3 and the opponent has already used their mystics on any of the usual top cosmic defenders in the previous rounds is priceless.

CMM. She is a unique champ, and is designed for questing, but you can use her in BGs for ideal matchups. The meta will determine whether or not you can greatly benefit from her. As you know, she ramps fastest against those who inflict energy debuffs, and does the most damage if she can armor break them. And if you have great gaming skills, like maximizing stun debuffs, and can play her better, you won't regret it.

Just fyi, for her awakened ability you'll need her sig level around 50 to 60 to get her to a 10 second Indestructible buff, which is decent, and only 2 seconds from max.

Keep in mind though, that even though there are "better" champs, she is still very likely to get banned. She's a nuke attacker. A lot of players know what she can do, but don't want her to do it lol.

Plus, if you want that Indestructible buff, keep in mind that you can't awaken her any other way because she's not in the basic and there is no indication of her ever being in there.

Medusa. One and done is good with her from a defense standpoint as it makes her autoblock unpredictable.

CMM only if you really like her and only since she isn’t generally available.

Anybody feel that Maestro is worth a class gem? I recently pulled cosmic from awakening gem shards crystal and he’s my best candidate. Already have Serp, Medusa, DThanos, Venom. My other options are Phoenix (doesn’t seem like she really needs it and I don’t enjoy her rotation), Vox (don’t know if he needs it, honestly) or Angela (and I’m probably not going to prioritize her for stones any time soon).

No, only because you can get his dupe from content.
His awakening is nice, but I wouldn't use a gem given you can do content to awaken him.

I used a class gem on Maestro (so I could pick the titan from Necro Carina's). Don't regret it. It makes him much better on attack, and while minimal, slightly faster ramp on defense.

Used it over Serpent, Medusa, Hyperion and some others at the time. But you can also save it, which may be the better option right now. @Herbal_Taxman

Good notes. I think I’ll hold it for a while, at least until we know if the next eidol is cosmic. I do enjoy maestro though, so he might get it anyway.
