I just wish Kabam was a bit more honest about this issue. "New Technology", come on its more likely they couldn't really find a cure for modders so they decided to amputate the problem by banning illegal downloads. Its a bold decision; but calling it "new technology" is putting lipstick on a pig.
They likely meant that it was new to what they were using, and it seems to be effective, all things considered. I don't know how many fringe cases there are, but it's evident they want to stick to official methods all-around. I'm sure some people unwittingly broke ToS, some knew what they were doing, and some would deny either way. In any event, I don't see them announcing that half the people on here were falsely banned. Personal opinion.

As opposed to being completely honest and saying "The modder situation got way out of hand and we can't find a better solution than banning everyone who didn't get the game from an official source, legitimate players or not". I only feel bad for the players in regions like China, makes you wonder about business ethics. If they spent money all this years should they be refunded? They knew all along that the game was being downloaded from a different source due to government restrictions. They still took their money.
No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs. They have no control over whether people download the game through other methods, but they certainly have the right to enforce it if they detect it through different screening methods.

I never said they didn't have a right, but its unethical to sell a product or service that you know people shouldn't have access to it and then tell them "Oh well you were not allowed to have access to it in the first place" You are going to tell me they just found out after 10 years that MCoC was unavailable for regular download in China? That the game had to be "sideloaded"? They never saw screenshots of that weird screen that actually asked for a government issue ID? Cause I have and I don't even work for Kabam. Unless they find a way to officially give them access.

Just 7 days for most people, after 7 days those people will login to game again, with the same installation, Kabam will have to let them continue because they realized this hurt the business.
However, damage has already been made, those people wouldn't pay anymore or as much as before, this is the thing Kabam have to swallow.
Seatin admitted he shared his account long time ago, did he get banned? No Kabam know what is good for business, although they made mistakes for many times.

So this new technology is applied only 1 time as a warning, and then they can keep on side loading the game with no consequences? Does that make any sense to you? I am talking about people being affected by region by the way.

It doesn’t, this why I said it is a mistake
Gotcha sorry if I misread The seatin thing, I think he was punished with a 7 day suspension. If I recall it was the whole Killmonger on defense issue?

You're assuming they knew people were installing it illegitimately, overlooked it, and now pulled the rug out from under them. There is zero evidence that Kabam has encouraged this behavior.

They could have restricted purchases and access from the whole region. They still took their money. You can use a VPN to access I will give you that. Now you can't VPN a credit card origin, the geolocation to use it yes, the source of the financial institution you can't. And lets not forget that while they were developing this "new technology" they opened a webstore. The webstore itself could have restricted access from this regions since they are playing in a illegitimate way.

Then Kabam should have banned all Android players from China, they all downloaded from somewhere else, why it is so hard for you guys to admit this big-beautiful anti-cheater system is totally a mistake?

I don't think its a mistake, but I do think they need to come out with some solution for region restrictions, specially if those players affected paid money.

Nah, applying a wrong/lazy "technology" that caused unintended consequence is not accountable.

My idea is simple If kabam don't want people to sideload there game
1. They should atleast release an official apk version for android users, just like they did it with pc. So people who cannot download in from their appstore can still play legitimately through the official verson from the wesbite. Simple but effective fix. 2. As usual, ban anyone using emulator for that game and anything outside of their official source. 3. Improve their so called "new tech". Let the tech flag accounts who violate TOS, then MANUALLY looking into those accounts and then if the account was really guilty of cheating, modding or sideloading.Ban them. 4. There system should be able to see what kind of 3rd party software a player used,if its anything suspicious, instant ban or suspension

This is not just about the ban, this is about potential 10 years of people buying stuff from Kabam and now being told they have no access to it because even after the suspension they won't have a way to access the game. Unless they find a way to officially give them access.
You're assuming they knew people were installing it illegitimately, overlooked it, and now pulled the rug out from under them. There is zero evidence that Kabam has encouraged this behavior.
You can't be serious to tell me they didn't know for 10 years that China has a ban on google store rofl come on dude.
Did Kabam encourage Chinese players to skirt that?
Then Kabam should ban all Android players from China, they all downloaded from somewhere else, why it is so hard for you guys to admit this big-beautiful anti-cheater system is totally a mistake?
I believe in Kabam being accountable for what they’re accountable for. Someone else's choice to install the game through unsupported means is not their fault.
Nah, applying a wrong/lazy "technology" that caused unintended consequence is not accountable.
That is not an unintended consequence if the Google Play Store is the only officially-approved method of installation and game play, and China has banned the Google Play Store since 2010. That's out of Kabam's control.
They shouldn't have taken their money then, even worse take money from the webstore. They have absolute control over that. And don't tell me its xsolla, its a 3rd party. They can tell them to not process transactions from financial institutions in certain regions.
Ahh yes don't let player use a 3rd party app but they themselves use one for online transactions Classic kabam logic
Its a 3rd party store or market you are reaching too far on this one, lol And its all good no need to apologize, I was trolling; but telling you the truth. You were not angry at me lol

Ah my bad,but still they should have restricted chinese players from it. Idk if they can or not, cause they can still access it through vpn. That's why i said in the post above this that they should made an official apk version for them. Cause these people are actually spending on the game.

You're making accusations here, and you're not helping the situation. The onus is on the people who installed it erroneously. Not Kabam. I don't know what kind of hero you think you're being here, but people don't ever get the money back they put into the game. This isn't any different.

They can restrict as much as Netflix can restrict a movie in your region cause it goes against the countries morals or movie release date. Which means they can but a VPN or a pirate website would allow the person to bypass. What you can't bypass is a credit card from a financial institution in China being restricted to use. Nowadays you can't even bypass a pre paid giftcard from another country.

Yeah the same accusation everyone is making calling these poor people cheaters who have no idea what they did, cause your kabam jesus won't clarify them what they did. Before you attack me with the "their game ,they do not neet to prove anything bs" Yes they need to,they need to tell those players what exactly they did and what was the exact 3rd party app they used. Not saying cheaters shouldn't be banned. Why do you think kabam is so silent on this one? There were ban waves before this, people complained And kabam proved them to be cheaters. Why not now?what are they doing rn? Also to the "idk what kind of hero you think you being" Lemme tell you what,he's not trying to be one You say that because you know he is right and he is not saying anything wrong. Kabam knew those people spend on the game, despite the app being not available. Then why didn't they stop them?why now? When these people can't reach support. Not like kabam can't see any player's region.

I'm not getting riled up at all, aside from the fact that you're misplacing the onus and your expectations are not logical. You're blaming Kabam because they didn't screen every transaction and block any from Andorid in China. That's ridiculous. It's also avoiding the real problem. If people weren't legally allowed to install it through Play Store, the responsibility is theirs if they circumnavigate that.
Chinese players don't have access to Google Play at all, why 90% of them can still play on Android but 10% got banned? If this is illegitimate, why Kabam even allow Chinese players to login from Android device? The system is simply faulty.

I only feel bad for the players in regions like China, makes you wonder about business ethics. If they spent money all this years should they be refunded? They knew all along that the game was being downloaded from a different source due to government restrictions. They still took their money.

However, damage has already been made, those people wouldn't pay anymore or as much as before, this is the thing Kabam have to swallow.
Seatin admitted he shared his account long time ago, did he get banned? No
Kabam know what is good for business, although they made mistakes for many times.
I am talking about people being affected by region by the way.
The seatin thing, I think he was punished with a 7 day suspension. If I recall it was the whole Killmonger on defense issue?
You can use a VPN to access I will give you that. Now you can't VPN a credit card origin, the geolocation to use it yes, the source of the financial institution you can't.
And lets not forget that while they were developing this "new technology" they opened a webstore. The webstore itself could have restricted access from this regions since they are playing in a illegitimate way.
why it is so hard for you guys to admit this big-beautiful anti-cheater system is totally a mistake?
And thank you for making sense this time
If kabam don't want people to sideload there game
Classic kabam logic
And its all good no need to apologize, I was trolling; but telling you the truth. You were not angry at me lol
Idk if they can or not, cause they can still access it through vpn.
