No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs. They have no control over whether people download the game through other methods, but they certainly have the right to enforce it if they detect it through different screening methods.
I never said they didn't have a right, but its unethical to sell a product or service that you know people shouldn't have access to it and then tell them "Oh well you were not allowed to have access to it in the first place" You are going to tell me they just found out after 10 years that MCoC was unavailable for regular download in China? That the game had to be "sideloaded"? They never saw screenshots of that weird screen that actually asked for a government issue ID? Cause I have and I don't even work for Kabam. This is not just about the ban, this is about potential 10 years of people buying stuff from Kabam and now being told they have no access to it because even after the suspension they won't have a way to access the game. Unless they find a way to officially give them access.
You're assuming they knew people were installing it illegitimately, overlooked it, and now pulled the rug out from under them. There is zero evidence that Kabam has encouraged this behavior.
You can't be serious to tell me they didn't know for 10 years that China has a ban on google store rofl come on dude.
Did Kabam encourage Chinese players to skirt that?
Then Kabam should ban all Android players from China, they all downloaded from somewhere else, why it is so hard for you guys to admit this big-beautiful anti-cheater system is totally a mistake?
I believe in Kabam being accountable for what they’re accountable for. Someone else's choice to install the game through unsupported means is not their fault.
Nah, applying a wrong/lazy "technology" that caused unintended consequence is not accountable.
That is not an unintended consequence if the Google Play Store is the only officially-approved method of installation and game play, and China has banned the Google Play Store since 2010. That's out of Kabam's control.
They shouldn't have taken their money then, even worse take money from the webstore. They have absolute control over that. And don't tell me its xsolla, its a 3rd party. They can tell them to not process transactions from financial institutions in certain regions.
You're making accusations here, and you're not helping the situation. The onus is on the people who installed it erroneously. Not Kabam. I don't know what kind of hero you think you're being here, but people don't ever get the money back they put into the game. This isn't any different.
If I am making accusations I don't know why you are getting so riled up, You don't work for Kabam therefore I am not accusing you. This post is full of accusations, why is mine worth your time? Cause it actually makes sense? Lets say I am accusing Kabam, am I accusing them of doing something illegal? The answer is no, I am accusing them of doing something unethical.
I'm not getting riled up at all, aside from the fact that you're misplacing the onus and your expectations are not logical. You're blaming Kabam because they didn't screen every transaction and block any from Andorid in China. That's ridiculous. It's also avoiding the real problem. If people weren't legally allowed to install it through Play Store, the responsibility is theirs if they circumnavigate that.
No see I will invite you to think a little bit further. What happens with the players that spent money AFTER the 7 day suspension? This was not announced, people wouldn't have spent money on Xmas, HoF, buying pre release bundles, double tracks and the infinite ammount of things people spend on this game if they would have told people that in June anybody sideloading the game would be restricted access. So is this a "rug pull"? It absolutely is for some people.
Chinese players don't have access to Google Play at all, why 90% of them can still play on Android but 10% got banned? If this is illegitimate, why Kabam even allow Chinese players to login from Android device? The system is simply faulty.
They have access to Apple, which is allowed to the best of my knowledge.

You want to make accusations and claims, do your own research. That's on you. Not me. You don't own any aspect of your account. We don't purchase for ownership. We lease permission to access aspects of their product and they reserve the right to end that in the case of any violation of ToS. Anyone playing the game should be aware of that. We lose our money when we spend it. It's not a lasting investment.
Chinese players don't have access to Google Play at all, why 90% of them can still play on Android but 10% got banned? If this is illegitimate, why Kabam even allow Chinese players to login from Android device? The system is simply faulty.
They have access to Apple, which is allowed to the best of my knowledge.
So you are saying Kabam should ban all Android players in China? I don't think Kabam want to do that IMO
I'm not telling Kabam to do anything. What I'm saying is, from a logistic standpoint, anyone who doesn't use the approved methods of installation and game play is violating ToS and is subject to action. Legally, that's just how it is.
So you basically agree Kabam can't afford to ban all Android players from China (and ban Seatin) This is called double standards.

You're going further and further into conspiracy territory I'm afraid.
What conspiracy? Its a fact. If you buy membership to a gym and it closes down 3 days later you either get your money back or believe you got completely screwed. You think their sales from China would bave been the same if they announced that they won't be able to access the game from June? The only reason why I keep on this conversation with you at this point is cause it allows me to make you look more stupid by the second tbh.
You really need to read the ToS concerning spending.
Quote it, take a screenshot, show me instead of pretending knowledge by being vague.
14.1 Termination I think this is where it would fall under, but not sure. I didn't actually read all 14 sections.
No one is refunded money from all these years. That's how the game has always worked. As for your assertion, those are your words, not theirs. They have no control over whether people download the game through other methods, but they certainly have the right to enforce it if they detect it through different screening methods.

See everything you are talking about has a legal obligation or legal effect. I am talking about ethics. What they did is not illegal, its unethical. I get it for some people insulting their ethics hurts more than a legal accusation. For legal stuff you got laws and lawyers to defend you. For unethical there is people like you that asks about a ToS regarding spending and probably haven't read it yourself either. You just know there is something, just not what.
No, that's called putting words in my mouth. Nice try.
OK, then you don't disagree, does it make you feel better? Or you just don't know, if you don't know then why you are arguing at here.

Not really, says the consequences of being banned. Like I said buddy, this is not about the ban or suspension, its about the 8th day after the suspension is lifted. They pretty much told spending players from China to go kick rocks because they won't be able to access the game anymore.
Lets play a game. Lets imagine the 4th of July sales are insane. So insane that you just can't wait to grab your credit card and start spending. So insane that even hardcore F2P players decide to throw a couple of bucks. July 10th they announce the game is going to shut down on August 1st (Remember its just a game, its all pretend) Would anybody be happy? Well this is a bit similar to what happened to restricted regions after the suspension gets lifted.

Even its about pretending. Pretty sure this game will eventually die someday.

It will die someday and we spend and play aware of that. This is not the game comming to an end. Its a drastic effect of not being able to deal with modders anymore. I guess players from China are just collateral damage.
Does using vpn get you banned cuz I use vpn for other things but I always off it before playing so im not sure if I accidentally played while having the vpn active @kabamcrashed

Why not? No android player in China can install the app legitimately from google play.
I don't entirely agree with this banned behavior of yours. Among the people I know, some have been using Google Play to download games all the time, but they were still blocked. Since the network is restricted, one has to use a VPN to log in to Google Play. The function of the VPN is only to bypass the network restrictions and it doesn't make any modifications to the games themselves. So, why was it also banned?

I've read the ToS. Legally AND ethically, if people breech the ToS and install the game through unsupported means, it's on them.
Did I say it wasn't? The unethical part is taking money from them. Specially from the webstore.
You think the webstore is screeing Players from China with Androids? It processes transactions. That's it. You've got this red herring of an issue about Kabam accepting money. I'm in Canada. I'm not allowed to have access to American Netflix. So I subscribe with a VPN and an American credit card. Then I get caught and they ban my account. You think Netflix owes me money? I broke their rules.

Your example would work if Netflix banned accounts. They don't, they found ways to restrict some VPNs instead. Something the game should do better, detect the modders instead of punishing a whole region. Hell I have been sharing my Netflix account with a friend backpacking in France for over 7 months, all I do is send him the SMS code via whatsapp 🤣
You're missing the point. The point is if you take it upon yourself to come up with a workaround for the rules, you're the one that is responsible if it goes udders up.

This is called double standards.
Like I said buddy, this is not about the ban or suspension, its about the 8th day after the suspension is lifted. They pretty much told spending players from China to go kick rocks because they won't be able to access the game anymore.
Lets imagine the 4th of July sales are insane. So insane that you just can't wait to grab your credit card and start spending. So insane that even hardcore F2P players decide to throw a couple of bucks.
July 10th they announce the game is going to shut down on August 1st (Remember its just a game, its all pretend)
Would anybody be happy?
Well this is a bit similar to what happened to restricted regions after the suspension gets lifted.
Pretty sure this game will eventually die someday.
