And this issue at hand has strong emotions on both sides (people victimized by cheaters using unauthorized downloads, which also happens to be the way some non-cheaters need to access the game).

Gotta have empathy for some of these people. For a lot of people, they probably weren't aware of having an illegitimate client, and I imagine most of these people aren't people who are cheating in the first place. Unfortunately, it is the few that are cheating that ruin everything for everyone else

As soon as gamora inflicts bleed due to the node, elsa purifies it, so no bleed damage. If you don't inflict another bleed within 7 secs (definitely possible with good rng and some planning) you can nuke elsa. Gamora only needs her sp2 to do this fight. Totally possible with very high luck.

Saying that doesn't help your cause at all. It makes me thing you believe your ban is unjustified because you think other people deserve the ban more, not because you're innocent.
The only reason I'm not going ham on everyone claiming they are innocent is there is a tiny, tiny probability there are a few out there. I'm talking like one or two. Maybe a dozen, maybe. But the vast overwhelming majority were banned for the stated reasons correctly, whether anyone thinks unauthorized clients are a justified reason or not, whether they think the punishment fits the crime or not. They looked for unauthorized clients, found them, and took action. I'm pretty sure virtually everyone targeted was targeted because they did in fact do what the ban wave claims they did.
Why some players were only temp banned while others were perma banned I don't know, but history suggests a possibility. In the past players have been issued temp bans, and then upon further review those bans were escalated to permanent bans when the anti-cheat team poured over those accounts with a fine toothed comb. Something like that is probably happening here.
No one got banned for no reason. Either you got banned because you did what Kabam says you did, or there's something exceptionally weird about your account that makes it look like you did. If there was a problem with the bans that caused them to ban players just randomly and for no reason, we'd know it by now.
A person came forward on the Discord to say they were errantly banned and drew a lot of supporters who thought if anyone was innocent it was him. They subsequently stated they appealed their ban and Kabam reversed it. As it turns out, they were never banned and the ban was never reversed. They just said that to rabble rouse (and was banned from the Discord as a result).
This doesn't mean everyone is lying. But it says anyone could be lying.

They have been investigating from the start. As far as I am aware, they have yet to find an example of an errant ban. In most cases players are confirmed to be running unauthorized clients, and why they think they aren't is a separate question.

Yes there is. No I can’t elaborate on precisely how.
Well there’s one obvious way. One of the accounts was played on another device not shared by the other account, and something there is what triggered the ban.
There are other less obvious ways but I can’t elaborate, and in fact I don’t know the precise details myself (anticheat techniques are one of those things even I am unable to get a lot of details about due to their ultra sensitive nature. Most of what I know comes less from people willing to tell me and more from me figuring it out myself and having people nod while whistling at the sky).

Yes, it is entirely possible many players did not fully understand what they were doing and did not know they were doing something wrong. However, that points to part of the problem. This information is out there all over the place: in the TOS, in in-game messages, everywhere. You could argue it is still not entirely clear or obvious, but then how do you convince people to take this seriously? You could argue that no matter what Kabam said there would always be people who did not get the message, did not understand the message, or thought it wasn’t bad enough to draw a ban. Kabam can’t hold everyone’s hand and speak to them personally and say this time we really mean it and force them to acknowledge understanding. That’s impractical.
