Can Kabam make GC grinding more rewarding?

JESUSCHRISTJESUSCHRIST Member Posts: 2,249 ★★★★
If I spend the energy on autofights, I get units

If I spend the time on arenas, I get units

If I spend the time and energy on GC, I get nothing when I win 1 and lose 1 match

It's even more frustrating to lose a fight by 100 points and lose the match

It's the most unrewarding activity in the entire MCOC

I don’t know what the solution is, but I agree with your complaint. BG is tedious as hell. The seasons feel like they last three months instead of one, the metas are painful, actual experience of the loading screens, the waiting, etc is just awful. I used to look forward to it, now I mostly dread it.

Bruh, no one want to play same BG meta for 1 month and you're talking about 3.

Participation gifts are only in the Victory Track. You could still get the 600 BG trophies for losing three times

Every gc match regardless of winning or losing, should give you 509 trophy tokens

That's a great Idea. even with a lower number of trophy tokens per match like arena battle chips, but the grind won't feel useless anymore. Even if someone farms 200 matches in a month that won't be game breaking, but will allow struggling players to get something for the time they were likely spending on nothing.

They have to buff the Radiance. I'm not an avid BGs player (this season was my first where I seriously pushed in GC), and the amount of effort you have to put in for that 10k Radiance is absolutely ridiculous.

Fair, but just imagine the further ungodly amount of effort required for top 150+ radiance. Shouldn't they get more compensation for putting in 2-3 hours every day?

My only complaint is that the points loss is way too high
Yesterday i lost one then won one, but got 4 points less than the ones I lost

Point loss is dependent on who you face rank wise. If you lost more than you gained that means you lost to an account way lower in points than you. Same thing applies if you win a match against someone with higher points than you its like a +20

I honestly don’t want more reasons to grind that mode. I feel like we have to play it a ton just to get halfway decent radiance rewards as it is.

A really nice change would be victory shields for GC.

As is often the case, you seem to have completely misunderstood the point.

This would totally be pay-to-win (or rather, those who can spend can ensure pay-to-not-lose).

And if players begin to not drop in points, there will be unintended consequences (Matchmaking could be impacted if there seems to only be players <80 points and >100 points; points needed to rank higher might simply just be inflated to where 200 points are needed to be Gamma when 100 points was sufficient).

Why not just turn BGs GC into Arenas where everyone is guaranteed rewards as long as they play?

I agree tbh i would rather they just make season last like 2 weeks and give half the rewards so it didnt feel so dry

    Arena esque.

Making it more rewarding was the point of Radiance.

It's ****, I used to love it, now I barely play it.
Kabam has the ability to make everything look like ****, so what?

Only 5,000 players made it to 200 points in GC

They could make grinding GC more rewarding. But they aren't likely to, because you aren't supposed to grind GC for rewards. You're supposed to compete for the highest placement possible. You aren't really supposed to be rewarded for going nowhere.

We saw what happened when there was tension between grinding solo milestones and the mechanics of GC. It was the solo milestones that went away. True, the alliance ones are still there, but I think that's due to the complexities of tampering with alliance events more than anything else. The point is: when people said it was hard to grind for solo milestones in GC vs VT, the solution was to eliminate the milestones, not make GC more grindable. Because GC is not supposed to be grinded.

There's no way you're ever going to convince anyone on the forums there's anything about the game you used to love.

Is that a decline from previous seasons? I don’t watch the leaderboards very carefully.

I think Kabam needs to be thoughtful about their next moves with BGs. Like WoF, most of the discussion is around ROI and the quality of the rewards. My problem with BG is, it’s a lot less fun than it used to be. Same with WoF. Rewards were fine, I had revives expiring. I’d do it again probably. But it wasn’t very fun.

It’s just like VC, every player has a ceiling. I am not going to magically jump to upper arcane because I grind for hours. I bounce around uru 1 and gamma 3 when I occasionally play, And when I get my highest point total, the odds of me running into a buzzsaw or two are exponential. Even so, the difference in radiance between those ranks aren’t enough to make me push hard.

I usually just let the trophy tokens go to waste in objectives. Losing is so penalizing and the W-L-W-L cycle is too time consuming where literally nothing advances your account for a ton of time. It’s a joke.

Last season was the first season with radiance as rewards, everyone started in vibranium 2 so GC had plenty of players, this means it's easier to gain points as weaker players got into GC as well, meaning 200 points was relatively easier to reach

This season most players started in diamond 4, so there were less weak players in GC, meaning GC matches were harder this season than last season

If I remember correctly, there were 8,000+ players who got 200 points by the closing of the 200 points objective cutoff timing
