For the Red Hulk Haters π

There was recently a thread asking for suggestions for Node 49 Zola (season 59 tac)
Myself and a few other players suggested IH (my alliance mate already tested and she is a good option) but I also mentioned I'm gonna cook it with RH if I get a chance.. had a couple disagrees or dislikes so felt compelled to come back and post π

Main challenge in this fight was AI manipulation - pushing the pace so you don't chip out from the tac or Brute Force
30% of the damage is from tactic. He's not tactic.
Needs recoils: I don't run them anymore.
Needs r4. I ain't doing that either.
Needs boosting, who doesn't in t1 wars.
Good champ for recoil users.
Not fun to play from my pov.
The issue is this..
-smaller champs cannot outrange his heavy with a single evade in most cases (they need to be able to connect from a two dash distance usually.. many cannot)
- XL champs can easily outrange his heavy with a single evade (as XL champs have a deeper evade), but many of them have a poor heavy reach
That being said, Hulk can heavy counter him fine.. that is true, but he wouldn't be better for this particular fight
- Hulk relies on specials more than RH does for damage, but also Zola mitigates all special damage by 90% anyway and reduced crit damage.. it's RH use of red numbers that help against Zola as they bypass some of his damage mitigation (and he can ramp via blocked energy hits)
And yes, that's a good time for that fight against an R4 in t1.. my alliance mate used R4 IH and took much longer and had a similar amount of health remaining (keep in mind she can throw specials to remove the tac)
But yeah the "damage lacking" is Zola's natural abilities.. and he's an R4 mini on a t1 map
I would be interested in footage of a better time on that fight - so I can have that info for my Battle Group
And yeah, absolutely.. I use him all the time for war nodes that limit, punish or prohibit Debuffs (especially when people place a Mystic there to be cheeky because most science champs rely on Debuffs:)
I'd love to see him get one, for example he and Luke Cage were both updated together some years ago.. then, later on Luke received his latest update.. RH did not
However.. I still think he's a great war attacker in some situations even without his update.. yet π€
They hate the fact he is in the Titan crytal (including me). Whent the titan has other champs like Spiderwoman, jean grey etc..why would anyone want Red hulk who is so old and not so interesting. Thats the problem right there. He is an okay champ otherwise.
Yes, I know that Sentry or Overseer were the best for that fight, but I wanted to see for myself and learn the hard way π
Yes, what makes him good for Zola is easy heavy counter, red numbers and ability to ramp by blocking energy attacks (no specials needed - in the case of node 49)
And i don't totally like Overseer lol
- make sp2 do something (anything at all is fine.. maybe a Passive Whither or something?)
One thing though.. the Incinerate should be Passive from his sp2 if we do that.. because I want him to keep his identity as a Science who doesn't rely on (and can control) his Debuffs.. and if you attempt to access the Whither Passive.. you want the incinerate to be passive as well or else that will remove his uniqueness in the Science class
But yeah, ultimately.. we need a damage modification for non-Recoil play (BGs)
He actually slaps even currently with Recoils, but remove it and it leaves something to be desired.. I mean it's fine but it's just not as bursty as 2024-25 champs without it
