This paranoia is way over blown…

Yup. As with most things in this game, the amount of resources required to earn the top rewards will make those rewards mostly meaningless.
So people can invest 500k radiance or 20k units or whatever into chasing prestige, but the payoff will be like 5% of that investment.

Defender stats and rewards scale with Prestige. Nodes and rewards scale with progression. So all Valiant players will have the same nodes on their fights. The stronger their rosters, the higher the defender health pools and the better the rewards.

Thanks for shedding some light on the matter mate, sounds great at this point in time

I am just spitballin, trying to guess whether it's gonna be a upscale or downscale

Assuming current valiant eq defender stats and rewards as a proportional scale benchmark, what would be the appropriate prestige scaled for these😜

Here's chadGPT enhanced rephrasing ... LOL

Just trying to wrap my head around how this new EQ auto-scaling might work.

    From what’s been shared:
Defender stats and rewards scale with Prestige
Nodes and difficulty scale with progression
So all Valiant players will face the same node setups
But stronger rosters = higher defender health and better rewards

I’m just spitballin’ here, trying to guess whether it’ll be an upscale or downscale, and what kind of formula could be behind the scenes.
Assuming the current Valiant EQ (Event Quest) is the baseline, we can think of it like this:

    Definitions:
    Let’s define:
    P = Your current Prestige
Pβ‚€ = Baseline Prestige used for EQ tuning (say ~17,000)
Hβ‚€ = Base defender health in EQ
    Aβ‚€ = Base attack
Rβ‚€ = Base rewards (shards, frags, etc.)
    Then we scale from there.

    Possible Scaling Equations:
    1. Defender Health:
    H(P) = Hβ‚€ Γ— (P / Pβ‚€)
    2. Attack:
    A(P) = Aβ‚€ Γ— (P / Pβ‚€)
    3. Rewards (less aggressive scaling):
    R(P) = Rβ‚€ Γ— √(P / Pβ‚€)

Rewards likely scale more gently (sub-linear), to avoid imbalance🀞

From f2p perspective it's definitely bad. If before you would get same rewards as any whales, now you will get twice less compared to smbd with bigger account. I.e. it doesn't close the gap. Every other game mode is already like that, now eq will be as well. Also before you could hit above your ceiling of you had done skills, now it's pretty much fixed.
I expect it to turn out very sad for f2p

I’m curious on how this will impact unit farming lower level EQ. Will those units be distributed evenly across the two difficulties or will they disappear?

Most of them are being moved to daily quests as part of the daily quest overhaul. Some will remain in the EQ.
Interesting, if they get moved to a daily quest that sounds like a potential to earn even more?
Careful with that thinking. They'll increase the cost of units spend events.....again.

How much prestige I need is what I need to know before it launches.
I kinda suck.... all my rankups are unduped or low sigs.

This is probably the most important take away. Hopefully they give us some kind of information in game on what prestige is needed for each increase.

You will catch up eventually, this argument that the gap never closes is just not true. You won't catch up with the whale spenders but you will catch up with f2p endgame players eventually.

Yeah this system could work, but only if Kabam stopped selling catalysts and other upgrade materials, which is very unlikely. Selling champs and cosmetics is fine and understandable. But continuing to sell key progression items while scaling event quest rewards based on account strength just widens the gap even more.

For free-to-play players, it's a double hit: reduced rewards compared to bigger accounts and a progression ceiling that can’t be overcome by skill alone.

You realize whales fund the game that allow you to actually be f2p right? If those whales weren't buying those materials you claim are preventing you from catching up (fun fact they're not, I was f2p myself until four months ago when I started spending) you wouldn't be able to enjoy this game with no ads or straight up having to buy it from the store. Instead of complaining, keep pushing through all story content, grinding arenas so you can get endgame content done as well as buying stuff from sale events, and improving your skills in general.

I am no f2p and I am not advocating anyone to be f2p.
Not a whale but regular spender
I am not against when KABAM sell champs or cosmetics, when they sell straight up T7 cats that's questionable

PS: I am not complaining about spending mate, stating how the new scaling is gonna factor with catalyst sales, competitive modes and power gap between players

No whales buying only for cosmetic reasons there trying to to grow as fast as possible as possible so Kabam selling tier 7b is fair i wouldn’t even buy in this game if it was just cosmetic.

It's just funny how someone can find a downside to Kabam actually updating game modes like we've been asking for.. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be an improvement

Mate, It's funny how someone doesn't understand downside is scaling with prestige not the update to game mode... LOL

Scaling with prestige also won't be a problem, if highest upgrades like T7 cats aren't being sold

Why is it questionable? That's how every online gacha game works, that's literally what you sign up for when you download the game.

Why would it scale badly? The nodes aren't going to get harder just bigger hps and the rewards will get better and better as your roster grows, eventually you will catch up once you have 30 r3s and start getting r4s, there will be no massive gap between f2p players and low to mid end spenders once you catch up. Just the gap between whales and everyone else which yes is pretty big after every major sale but it is what it is, they're part of the reason the game's still running, always been like that always will be like that. You'll understand how much it sucks to get a bunch of 6* shards doing EQ once you become Valiant and have a ton of 7* in your roster, EQ rewards are so useless at the moment, we need scaling rewards.
