Last year champs were definitely not garbage but I remember they were extremely hyped by the community at that time,
especially p99. They were talking like he was the next meta defender lol.
Wags, Again, many hyped he is going to be the next mutant sp nuke. I even thought of being him lol.
Venompool honestly slaps but got a lot of hate.
Misty, meh, initially got a Lil attention but faded. Ihulk perfectly rated
Man thing is wierd. Even I rode the hype train. He is ok, decent defender especially proven to be great in the crit meta but now I barely see him and use him.
Only champ I've seen a few times in last 4-5 months is p99 and he never was placed in defense, always used as bullseye counters. I'm very surprised not to see any p99 during last invade meta
They're unfortunately all benchwarmers no matter how you want to put it. Apart from the occasional wags war pre-fight and the 10 summoners who ran punisher 99 during invade they're all not relevant. I'm not in the mood to sugarcoat today. Sorry you like them but they aren't great.
Viv being in this one already gives me hope cos I think viv already is pretty good as is. Her getting a Lil tune up is even better.

I assume this reply is not to me, cuz I do feel the same way. They were overhyped right from the start.
I only care bout voodoo. Regardless of how he turn in, I'm Goin to get him and r3 him atleast. Very fun character.
Not really interested in Viv, Anti-Venom and Night Thrasher but Cull, Voodoo and Sabretooth I am really hyped about. Cull has to he #1 for me he has everything in his kit to deal with current tech meta defenders they just need to fix that noodle block proficiency and his ramp.
Pretty much.. crank block proficiency (he's using a huge shield ffs:) and cut his ramp for single fight modes...done ✅ definitely hyped for Cull and Voodoo, but also Viv actually
Lotta daylight between garbage and great. I think I’ve got them all by now, P99 occasionally gets used on defense and Wags as a wingman. The rest, just parked somewhere in the middle of the ever-lengthening bench of champs.
For your personally, but personally I've gotten tons of use out of my I hulk and am feverishly chasing manthing

He'd be so good for Red Skull and Zola I was watching a video yesterday, he absolutely has the potential to be at the top of the mystic class as long as they don't do him dirty, fingers crossed. Voodoo I'm really excited about too, I have a feeling he's going to be a Dark Phoenix counter right off the bat just gotta give him acid burn like Nico so he can be used against poison immune, and maybe a lil extra utility to align with today's meta. I think these two are the easiest to tune up out of the six.

I think Spirit Venom should be separate from poison, similar to Human Torch and Dark Phoenix's Nova flames.

As long as it is still classed as a poison for dark phoenix
Dr V was my goat back in the day for AQs. I'm glad to see him getting something more.
Hopefully this tune-up doesn't gimp the good stuff he has. It wouldn't take much to make him relevant as a 7 star.
Healing can't be reversed. Against non-science champs, if healing would be reversed, he gains [X]% of the regen that would be denied. Current sig -> part of base kit. New sig: Gains [Y]% of healing denied from poisons. If opponent is immune to poison, apply 2 spirit venom debuffs at +[Z]% potency.

But those champions never got changed, whereas the rebirth champions will get changes before they become 7*s. As for P99, I really only have seen Trappy use him in BGs so far, people are still sleeping on him
They better not ruin my Viv! I just r5ed sig 200 my 6* and she is fine. I’d give her 20-25 armor ups max and reduce time to get them back in half cause she needs them. Increase her SP3 fury and call it a day. Sure they could up her base stats but playing her right means you don’t get hit.

They could just reduce the cooldown timer for the armors
Took all the rebirth champs to r5 as 4 star except viv because I already have her as 6 star r4 ascended and honestly kabam will show her damage as 7 star r4 but honestly I will judge myself with the 4 star because if they will be good they should impress me as 4 star first and then I will decide later which champ i will get and choose from crucible rewards and whichever champ I will not get I will rank them as 6 star version I think that will be a great idea
Mutant : Beast !! Tech : Star Lord Cosmic : Black Bolt / Drax /Thor Science : Cap. America / Electro Mystic : Dr. Strange.... Come On!!!????
Star lord does NOT need a buff
Because he's so versatile, and you see people using him all the time?
He's got damage - that's it.
I'm definitely happy to say that he needs a Tune-up rather than a rework, but he definitely needs something.
Personally, I slightly suspect that Kabam might be already testing out part of his eventual Tune-up: his synergy with Mantis, where he gets to choose his Element Gun effect seems like exactly the thing to roll into his base kit.

This, at best he'll get a modern update to his kit, like Phoenix. Mantis synergy should definitely be in his base kit, plus if he had persistent combos (max 100), he would be a much better champ for everest content as well

It sounds like they're just going to be slightly adjusting some of her kit, they aren't going to suddenly make her better in long form content because she's not designed for that.

Phoenix was way more than just a modern update, it's borderline a complete rework

Agree, here's the thing though - regarding Voodoo/Nico or a similar comparison.. I think Kabam will make all of them useful against newer champs to a degree, but there will always be some advantage reserved for new releases as it relates to hard countering newer defenders.. the value of the newer attackers needs to be preserved for the business model
That being said, there is sometimes a chase involved for the buffed champs release - so that helps But me personally, I don't chase new champ "hard counters" (basically turn off all of the dangers of a new defender) a whole lot.. I'm more in the camp of "give me a plausible way to succeed against them and I'll learn it"
I trend towards older buffed (or never needed a buff) champs.. sometimes just to be different, but also I just like them/have a nostalgic reason.. I also just enjoy not following the mind set of A+B=C.. there is almost always an alternative and I find those a lot more fun, for me personally
Tldr: always hyped for buffs as a means to further develop my roster of alternatives haha
