Holiday RDT's?

While this is technically a RDT thread, I'm not asking for reasons of compensation or such, but simply because they were given out last year at around this time:
So, simple enough question, is this planned in a similar manner for the 2018 end of year holiday stuff?

A-frickin-men!
True, but asking about RDTs when you are dealing with a company that would never tell you ahead of time if they are going to hand out RDTs is pointless. Plus it is likely the 50th RDT thread this month...so it is becoming tiresome.
Lol what precedence that was the first time they gave RDT during Christmas and they never said it would happen again
Which... is what set a precedent.
noun
/ˈprɛsɪd(ə)nt/
1.
an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances.
It's literally only happened once how could set a precedent especially WHEN IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN SAID TO HAPPEN AGAIN
*would very much like them, though they aren’t necessary, nor are they expected

I thought it was funny at least
I preferred my Rolling Display Ticker topic that got nixed.
A precedent only requires a single time. That is the literal definition of the word, as posted by someone else further up. I think what you are confusing it with is a 'trends'.
Beyond that, stating last year was the only time they did it, as if that invalidates it, is ignoring the timeline of 12.0. Unless the information I looked up was wrong, 12.0 was released around March of 2017, and with it they issued a huge batch of RDT's, due to the game changing in many drastic ways.
So of course last year was the first time they gave them out for the holidays. Less than a year after the first time they ever gave out RDTs, in fact.
If you dont want to see them again, that is a valid opinion.
To declare a precedent wasnt set, that is just ignoring the facts.
Only problem with rank up vs rank down is that someone could potentially rank down someone from r5 and take someone else up while if they give us rank up gems I highly doubt it's going to be a 4 to 5.
I certainly wouldn't rank down any of my r5 5*s but someone out there might want to.
