This is dumb. We already have 2 cykes in the game. Another character that basically has the same powers as cykes but somehow kabam will make him some kind of god tier champ.
He will be an upgraded version of Cyclops and have much better mechanics since he’s newer. Him and Warpath are the last two I’ve been waiting for more than anyone else.
I was extremely bummed when I saw it was havok and not mystique or kitty pryde. Havok is basically a clone of cyclops with a different look and SP3. He also killed himself with his own power in X-men apocalypse. He is the last X-man I would never expect to see joining and am quite upset with Kabam’s choice on this

Why do people take the movies as the be-all for info for this game?
One of all-time favorites. Extremely excited to have this character in the game. No idea how good he'll be but sometimes, just having one of your favorites who isn't an A-lister is enough
I never thought I'd get a playable Sentry in a game. Check
I also never thought I'd get a playable Hyperion in a game. Check
I've played Havok in games before, but this will totally work for me because I didn't think/know that Kabam would get there
Only a few more characters left on my Personal Checklist: Nova (Richard Rider), Wonder Man, the original Captain Mar-Vell (with Nega-Bands) and the dream: Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch and Namor, the Sub-Mariner
Yeah, I know the last three probably aren't coming. But one day, one day, I want to play as the Invaders in SOMETHING

All I said is he got himself killed by his own power in the movie. And explained why I didn’t like seeing him in February.

Yeah, you did as if the movie is truth. Like people saying Dr Doom should be Tech because of his mechanical suit he built in the FF movie.

I don't think @Austin555555 was saying that the movies canonically describe Havok, he was just listing a reason why he doesn't like the character in general. That's reasonable: we can only like or dislike a character based on what we've been exposed to. If he said everyone else should dislike him because he controls his powers like a moron, that would be different. That scene doesn't define the character. But it can be why @Austin555555 prefers chocolate over mint chip.

Actually, based on my knowledge of the character in simple terms he isn't just a clone of Cyclops in terms of ability nor is he likely to translate into that in the game. Acknowledging that both characters have been around long enough to have had their powers retconned more than once, my understanding is that Cyclops emits beams of force from his eyes and that energy comes from a pocket extradimensional plane. Havok absorbs energy from his surroundings and emits that energy as heat and energized plasma, both directionally and in all directions. So I would expect the MCOC version of Havoc to have incineration attacks rather than energy attacks, I would not be surprised to see him with some area of effect damage (like Mephisto's incineration aura), I would not be surprised to see him with energy absorption mechanics analogous to Bishop, and I would not be surprised to see him have funky interactions with Cyclops himself, not just as a synergy but maybe as special damage mechanics (not full immunity necessarily, but something like how Daredevil is immune to Hood's invisibility effects).
In the comics Havok's abilities are fundamentally different from Cyclops, and I expect that to be reflected in the game.

Fair assessment. Guess I just see lots of people who rely on the movies as their entire knowledge base when there is so much more to the characters in the comics.

I don’t 100% rely on movies for my marvel knowledge. I simply give my opinion on weather I’m exited for a champ or not. If someone else says they are exited for them, that’s perfectly fine. But considering my knowledge did partly come from movies and I learned more about characters from this game and comics. But let’s get the thread back on topic before it might get shut down
Definitely excited for Havok now that I know some stuff about him... Cyclops' brother for one (hoping for a good synergy with Cyclops to make him better)... seems like he'll have the potential for some amazing animations and seems like he'll be at least an alright character. So yeah I know heaps of people were hoping for Apocolypse, but hey it's Kabam's game they can introduce whoever they want. And they usually do a great job of choosing, so I'm not complaining. If he turns out to just be another Cyclops, however... well I won't be mad but I'll definitely be disappointed...
He’s a good addition,MCOC, but I would rather see X-Men villain Apocalypse so he can give Archangel synergy buffer. He should have been up here like a long time ago.
Havok was never my favorite, but I liked the fraternal relationship that played out in the comics. He was an interesting bench player for the X-men before he become prominent in XFactor and more recent sagas (AvX, Uncanny Avengers, for example).
I fear Havok will be another example of what occurred with Champions like Iron Man and Spidey: original versions left in mediocrity while newer, flashier versions get tons of features (I realize Havok isn’t Cyke, but the characters have a ton in common—it’s easy to see Havok as Cyke 3.0).
Similarly, I worry Cyke will only get a little boost via synergy, but not enough to make him a viable option for serious content. And I worry Havok will be superior to other champs in the mutant class that he shouldn’t be—Magneto comes to mind.
Most importantly: it’s always good to get new champs who are familiar to Marvel fans, but it’s also hard to get too excited about a champ unlikely to find his way onto my roster for months.
I’m happy to see him, but I’m still waiting to see Mystique in game. Sadly, at this point looking at the 2019 Mystery Champion Puzzle, I doubt she’ll be in MCOC in 2019 😥😥😥

Let's see what kinda champ kabam makes him like.

...how is that possible?
I mean, I can understand Darkhawk or Night Thrasher... but Havok?
He's a really popular X-Person.
I don't know who most of the newer mutants in the game are lol
There were a couple mutants I didn’t know about till they came in the game.
But you do know that Havok isn't newer...right?
Dude's been around since the 1960s
I assumed he meant recently added to MCoC.
And his SP3 is terrible.
But if people like him, then I'm happy that they're getting the character they want. At least this game is getting characters.
Yeah i meant new to the game. I remember that i watched some x men cartoons a few years ago but never saw him in it
uhhh....Vulcan
Edit: I'm more excited for Mr. Sinister
No way. Alex > Gabe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Scott
