If ur really trying to avoid investing on potential 7*s I think your best options are CGR, Hulkling, and Cassie in no particular order.

I prolly would have chosen VTD or 6* shards from Vox dupe over Champion but thats just me. Non consequential really, you'll outgrow those 5*s faster than you think.

So you havent completed any AQ for the 5 or 6 weeks since the last raid? You get tickets for regular AQ exploration. What did you do when Kabam let us keep the thousands of free glory? I bought raid tickets.
