I also think it's AI. I mean, we can choose our match and whose champion is to fight whom, and our opponents seem like they don't have a choice. I think our champions are in the pool of the arena during the 2-hour hibernation period before we can use them again.

YES PLEASE!!! I think there should be an XP counter, at least maybe place it in the summoner profile on the active boosts section. It wouldn't be much of an inconvenience to many since it wouldn't be added in the default screen.
