  • Now that we know that the players *could* have reached one billion points, does the next realm event have to be set at 1.5B points, since anything below a billion would now be considered trivial by your definition? That's the only thing that matters, what is done is done but how will this impact next set of events. You are…
  • That is in response to you suggesting that a completely outlier performance over 2 years of BG, makes the original target reasonable. Realm events are not likely to be once in 2 year occurrence, right? Your discourse over the last two weeks has been that the milestones are reasonable and anything lower would have been…
  • Players did not score 993.5 million on their own. That includes 50 free points every two days. Even if only 50% of the players fully utilised this, that added 105M points to the event (150K*700), probably much higher. The bonus objective was a change made after the negative reaction to the event announcement. Just because…
  • This We did try hard enough, putting in more than double the effort of previous highs, and still fell short of the mark on our own. And the additional points were not just Stark donations, but also another 100M+ from the bonus objectives. On typical BG scoring metrics, we fell short by a lot. The 1B milestone was not…
  • I don't think you can fault the effort of the playerbase here. 1B was an very high target. We had almost a 100K people reach GC, ~3x of a normal season. A similar number put up 5K points, equivalent of 500K in a normal season. Participation and engagement was the highest its ever been in BGs. We tried hard enough and more.
  • They just gave us a full titan crystal, they've been pretty good to us so far.
  • Thanks @Squidopus, @SirGamesBond. The crystals only display the the drop rates for a particular rarity of champ, like 1% for 7-stars in Paragon crystal. I don't doubt that those are accurate. My question was for the weighting of individual champs within the crystal. I don't recall seeing any information about that in the…
  • I'm assuming you are the best source for this information, apart from the devs. Do you know if all champions are equally weighted in a crystal? Is the probability of getting a Doom or Hercules from a six-star crystal same as the one of getting a Groot? I ask because not every game works like that. The crystal drop rates…
  • How? We are going to get to 1.1-1.2B now. This includes 170M of Stark donations and 150-200M from bonus objectives. Even if we hit 1.2B, we would have only hit 900M in normal scoring terms. You agree that participation this season has been beyond what we have seen in any previous seasons. Why do you think we would have hit…
  • I should have been clearer. I meant in the normal scoring (without the boosts), which is more representative of a typical season (with boosted incentives or otherwise), we wouldn't have hit 800M This highlights the same issue as that everyone brought up when the event was initially launched. That the milestones were set…
  • The first week projection already includes the first change implemented which is 50 free points every 2 days. Anyone putting up 5K points almost certainly got the full 700 points, that's a 16% bump in points (700/4300). Your absolute floor already factors in 15-20% higher points vs. a normal season. Personally, I got to GC…
  • We are ignoring the multiplicative impact of Stark Foundation donation. The 170M points made the 1B target achievable, which likely pushed a lot more people to make an effort to get to the individual 5K point mark. Without the donations, I doubt we would have even made 800M. The slowdown we saw in week 2 would have only…
  • You are right that FIFA and MCOC are not the same. The reddit sub for one of the game modes for FIFA is as big or bigger than the MCOC player base (1m+ subs). As awful as FIFA gameplay is, it is one of the most recognized and enduring games in the world. For someone who expects millions of datapoints from anyone raising a…
  • In another thread you mentioned that we have never achieved a 1B point equivalent in any season of BG so far. Your estimate was that it was atleast 25% higher than the best seasons which were seasons which had extra rewards and deathless pieces. While not impossible, the 1B target was certainly a stretch and the gap over…
  • I think the BG realm event is great. Revived an alt which had 9K elder marks just for this month. That's close to 5K additional points, which wasn't a part of any of the previous seasons.
  • You can only hold a max of 9K elder marks. You'll get that many from the event if you play it normally. Just play how many matches you can with elder marks. That'll be good enough. Given there is no cost to play, any return is better than not playing.
  • This event doesn't need 190K players in GC. It needs 190K players to play 100 matches each. VT is good. GC will make it easier, reducing the number of matches needed.
  • If this is true, then individual outcomes do not matter at all for the realm points. If you play two matches, one with elder marks and one with energy, the total points added to the realm event is same. 91 points (68 for the win + 23 for the completion) for the match with elder marks and 16 points (12 for the win + 4 for…
  • Do you understand how scoring in BGs work? Maybe you should read this again. Let's play out the scenario, where you in all your magnanimity decided to stay in lower VT to hand free wins to people. You play 2 matches 1 with EM, one with energy, win the first one and lose the next one. 1. First match you play with EM, other…
  • Half the players will win more than 50% of their matches, other half will win less than 50% of their matches. Do you think collectively the first half contributed more to the realm event than the losing half? I agree we won't get 300K players to an average of 5K points. But our best chance of getting there is everyone…
  • Let me ask you a simple question, do you think players who win more than 50% of their matches will end up contributing more to the realm event? Not to their ranked rewards placement, not to the alliance event but the actual realm event where the whole player base is targeting to get to 1B points?
  • It doesn't if it leads to fewer matches being played overall. You keep going on about win-loss ratio. Win-loss ratio is 50% for all matches, you can't change that. When you talk about making most of EMs, losing with energy and winning with EMs, you are maximising individual points per match. All of this is on the lines of…
  • To farm points for themselves, to get most out of EMs for their personal score. You are so self absorbed that you cannot look at a match-up and view holistically in how it contributes to the event. You think this is each player putting up a fixed score. Every match in VT adds 91 points to the realm event. Every match in GC…
  • You are not so great at understanding why they do it, so I think we're good. Please feel free to continue the woe is me for being the winningest player, why do I have to share any scraps with plebs motif. Your lack of self awareness is highly entertaining.
  • If the above post is not clear, campers optimise for least number of matches they have to play to maximize their rewards. There is no scenario where this is beneficial to an event where achieving milestones is only possible by playing more matches. Your solo points are irrelevant, the number of matches you played are your…
  • I doubt you understand how camping works, if you think it is what you described. Let me help you out. - BoreGirl is a skilled BG player, ends up in GC most of the time. But BoreGirl also knows she's only good enough to keep win 1 match out of 5 in GC. Typical season, get to GC and stop playing once there. - Occasionally,…
  • Your 2K does very little for anyone other than you either. How does camping affect the event? What is the reason for camping? To get points faster, right? Nobody camps to give free wins, they camp because they think they cannot win at the same rate at a higher level. Let me know if you have a more altruistic view on…
  • Only makes sense if you are playing bots, then there are no external costs to your points. You are playing against actual players who are spending elder marks too. People who are soldiering on despite high loss rate are the ones carrying others not the small set of players doing a few fights in GC.
  • Your are the one who started with 2K points does nothing for me nonsense. And complaining that rewards don't measure up to what ever lofty expectations you have, as if you are doing something dramatically different than hundreds of thousands of players. If you are winning most of your matches your 2K or 5K points are not…
  • This is a very self centered view on the. You are not generating 5000 points on your own, each of those came against an opponent who spent the same amount of elder marks on those matches. Depending on your win rate, your 5000 points led to 6250 points (at 100% win rate) or 20K points (at 0% win rate) for the event. Saying…
