    No, BringPopcorn has a point.
Many if not thousands folks will bench in low brackets in VT, waiting to see those milestones achieved
by others and only then they will calculate how much elder marks to use to hit the exact achieved milestone.

Some will burn 5k-10k points without even maybe reaching that titan....
I think and I also agree that the whole event is NOT built smart.

It’s half baked as a concept, if we’re gonna have a realm event then I think more effort should be put in by the company to drive engagement.

Something to add could be a summoner leaderboard showing who opened more crystals/won more fights and how many they’re at.

And perhaps an extra bonus for being one of first summoners to hit the top personal score needed to hit all milestones.

I find it’s quite overwhelming when you’re staring at a ten digit number and watching the score move slow af.

Farmed points, free points, forfeited points it all adds up here because it is a Realm event.

It doesn't if it leads to fewer matches being played overall.

You keep going on about win-loss ratio. Win-loss ratio is 50% for all matches, you can't change that.

When you talk about making most of EMs, losing with energy and winning with EMs, you are maximising individual points per match. All of this is on the lines of how can I get more points per match. But total points per match is fixed, there is no more points per match. If you get more points per match, someone else has to get less points per match.

Total realm points per match is fixed. I don't know why this concept is hard for you to understand.

Only way farming will help the realm event is if farming leads to more matches being played. But the only real reason to farm is to play as few matches as possible to achieve a certain point threshold. Nobody farms infinitely.

Please explain why you think players with the goal of playing as few matches as possible contribute positively to an event which only benefits from the number of matches being played?

There is no individual points its points for the realm. Also are you saying all this based on the assumption that people will quit at 5k? You really believe we will have 300k players scoring and avg of 5k points?
The total realm points is fixed if you put a limit on matches played. If a player lets another score a match with no chance of winning, its a plus. Why? Because the other player will win his quota anyway.
The ratio can be changed if you give them the win.
Do you really want to advocate for the little guy? Do you really want to prove me wrong?
Ask Kabam why thet cut the value of EM for low progression levels that never in 21 seasons got even close to GC. Ask them why their elder marks cost exactly the same to buy and just because they can't reach GC they only score a fraction of the points. Ask them why on earth with a horrible win/loss ratio that keeps them down in the ladder they also have to deal with contributing less points and having to play more matches to even scratch a milestone.
5K points is not a stopping point, not sure where the "playing less matches" comes from.

Let me ask you a simple question, do you think players who win more than 50% of their matches will end up contributing more to the realm event?

Not to their ranked rewards placement, not to the alliance event but the actual realm event where the whole player base is targeting to get to 1B points?

Half the players will win more than 50% of their matches, other half will win less than 50% of their matches. Do you think collectively the first half contributed more to the realm event than the losing half?

I agree we won't get 300K players to an average of 5K points. But our best chance of getting there is everyone playing normally with EMs and progressing at the best pace they can.

I'm talking about the people who maybe win 10-20% or their matches... The ones we need to score points because we won't have 300k who average the 5k...
Now tell me what scores more points?
You and I playing normally with EMs or You and I playing normally with EMs and then myself spending energy to help someone who has almost no chance or winning score some points with energy?

I'm not sure what kabam is thinking or what data they're looking at, but unfortunately 1billion community points will definitely be unachievable. A vast majority of the player base will spend most if not all of their time in victory so i will use those points for reference. Assuming that everyone does the 1 win every 2 days objective (which not everyone will) we would need 200k players to get 4300 points from fighting in bgs (using elder marks). Comparatively speeking, that is about the same as asking 200k players to reach 430k points in the bgs solo event (which isn't running this season). I typically stop at 300k and I believe that puts me somewhere in between rank 25k - 50k if im not mistaken. I know that there will be players going way beyond 5k points but i highly doubt that it will be enough to carry the 150k+ players that will come up short.

Do you understand how scoring in BGs work? Maybe you should read this again.

Let's play out the scenario, where you in all your magnanimity decided to stay in lower VT to hand free wins to people. You play 2 matches 1 with EM, one with energy, win the first one and lose the next one.
    1. First match you play with EM, other player played with EM - 91 points or
    - You played with EM and the other player played with energy - 72 points
    -
    2. You played with energy and the other player played with EM - 72 points or
    - You played with energy and the other player player with energy - 12 points

At this point you are just hoping that you picked the right player to give the wins. Otherwise, you added 103 points to the realm event where you could added 144 points, because you made a wrong choice. You are blind to the resource the other player is using 50% of the time you are going to get it wrong.

The 103 points would have come irrespective of you winning or losing. The realm event would have accrued the same 103 points if you lost the first game and won the second. Just that you would have got 23+8 = 31 points rather than 68+4=72 points. Your 31 or 72 points did not change the progress for the realm event.

Camping is bound to bring the overall average point per match and increase the number of matches needed to hit the milestones. It's the matches that count, not who wins or loses.

Well first of all if you are going to lecture me get the numbers right.
A win in VT is 68 points.
I would still play my quota with EMs, I will still play my matches even if I farm what part of that are you not getting???. For some players Energy can be wasted.
How hard is it to understand that if a UC player with a small roster shows up on an energy match losing gives more points to the realm? Why are you assuming farmers are farming the same way as a regular season?...A farmer can sit in Diamond losing matches for 10 days and then doing his climb. ITS NOT A REGULAR SEASON FARM.
You are right I am blind to the other player resource; but I wonder who has more energy to just throw away... A UC player still doing content or me with 10-20 energy refills sitting and expiring on overflow... Am I really that blind on the resources?

Apologies on the 68 points I didn't notice you were adding both sides.
Also I might be completely wrong, but I always had that belief that energy only matched with energy and EM with EM

PSA: Do not forfeit matches when you lose! Just let that timer run out. You do not get points for forfeiting. Lots of people tend to quit out after losing their second match, which screws themselves and the community out of points.

    3) Early matchmaking & Milestone composition. I’ve hit a couple of accounts that are significantly smaller than me yesterday and today. I would be discouraged to have zero chance at a win in that situation. This event needs smaller accounts playing BGs.

I am doing my bit for the community on this one. Giving easy wins to lower accounts pushing them a bit higher.

Yup, play with energy send every small account up, farm them after... Sounds terrible but we all get the same rewards...
At this point, if you are camping on me you are wasting my time, and like I said earlier, I'm forfeiting and giving you the win. I don't need your free wins pushing me higher into a level where I have a much harder time or have zero chance of winning.

I just want to play the game and challenge myself to get better. You putting your device down and letting the timer run out and giving me a "free win" isn't helping me get better in BG and eventually make it to GC on my own.

Also I might be completely wrong, but I always had that belief that energy only matched with energy and EM with EM

If this is true, then individual outcomes do not matter at all for the realm points. If you play two matches, one with elder marks and one with energy, the total points added to the realm event is same.

91 points (68 for the win + 23 for the completion) for the match with elder marks and 16 points (12 for the win + 4 for the completion) for the match with energy. It doesn't matter if you win none, one or two of those matches, the total points remain the same.

You are right that one of the reasons the event will fail is that the people with low win rates will stop playing sooner because of their slow progress. So, here is a slightly radical idea that can get us to the 1B+ mark - lose a few matches with elder marks.

How to get to 5K points in the realm event and make it to GC at no cost:
    1. Play with elder marks only
    2. Keep your win rate as close to 50% as possible

There are 3K elder marks in VT and 6K elder marks in the event milestones = 9K elder marks in all.

If you are starting at Diamond V, you need 49 medals to get to GC. You get 2 medals for a win, lose one medal for a loss. Here's what you do.
    - Play a match with elder marks. Win.
    - Start another match with elder marks, put your phone down and take a break for 10 min.

At the end of this cycle you have 1 medal and 91 points. Repeat 49 times.

The total cost of playing 98 matches is 8,820 elder marks. You get 49 x 91 = 4,459 realm points. If you space out this over 28 days, you'll also get an additional 700 realm event points (50 for a win every 2 days). That is 5,159 realm event points in total.

At 3,500 solo points / 700M realm event points, you'll get all the milestones with elder marks. You get 3K elder marks in total if you get to Vibranium 5. Theoretically anyone can from gold tiers above can do this at no cost.

    Why this won't work:
This would need 200K players and would require bigger accounts to take a few losses to get their win rate lower. In fact, this only works if we can keep everybody's win rate at 40% or above.

At 40% win rate, this won't be exactly cost less but the players will qualify for all the milestones with 3.7K points. Below 35% win rate, the players will not have any progress so will miss out on a decent bit of VT medals and probably some of the higher milestones.

In reality, Kabam is offering a free titan crystal to everyone. All you need to do is ignore your win rates and play ~100 matches without focusing on maximising your solo points. If 200K people do this we'll get to 1B points and the titan crystal, along with everything else in the milestones.

We won't get there, because I don't see how we can get 200K people to do this. Especially, I don't see 50K of the top accounts willing to take on more losses, especially with elder marks.

PSA: Do not forfeit matches when you lose! Just let that timer run out. You do not get points for forfeiting. Lots of people tend to quit out after losing their second match, which screws themselves and the community out of points.

If you are bound to get to GC on your own, you are not the person who is being given the free win. If you want to forfeit, feel free to forfeit. No one is asking you to take the ‘free win’

Maybe... but you and others are acting like you are doing me and others a favor. You're not.
